WWE News: Vince McMahon Changes to Raw Matches, Rowan’s Spider, Reaction to Baszler/Sane Match

Within the world of WWE there is only one person who’s opinion truly matters and that is WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon. According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McMahon wasn’t happy with several things on Raw this week, choosing to change them at the last minute.

Aleister Black was reportedly supposed to remain undefeated on Raw this week. This was changed by McMahon however to Black getting pinned by Styles, after Black already wrestled and defeated Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows (by disqualification). Perhaps Vince felt that Styles needed the win more since he was pinned by Undertaker at Super Showdown. Styles faces Black at Elimination Chamber on Sunday.

R-Truth was also supposedly going to be the wrestler who was defeated by Riddick Moss on Raw this week, before McMahon unexplainably changed it to Ricochet.

McMahon also reportedly rewrote the segment in which Erick Rowan revealed his giant spider to No Way Jose, although it is unknown at this time what the original plan was.

One match that McMahon did allow, but reportedly was very disappointed with was Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler. Asuka was originally supposed to be facing Baszler but had to be pulled from the match due to a wrist injury. McMahon felt that the match between Baszler and Sane did not get the desired reaction they hoped for, with Baszler not coming off as a big star just weeks before her expected match with Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 36. This is not the first time that McMahon has reportedly not been happy with Baszler’s performance, as it was rumored that he disliked her Survivor Series match with Becky Lynch and Bayley as well.
