Updated WWE Survivor Series Lineup for Nov. 18 Featuring 7 Raw vs. Smackdown Matches

TJR Wrestling

The next major WWE pay-per-view event is Survivor Series from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, November 18 with a start time of 7pmET/4pmPT. It will likely have a run time of four hours on WWE Network. It’s the 32nd edition of Survivor Series, which is WWE’s second oldest regular PPV event that is known as one of the company’s “big four” PPVs. Due to the presence of shows like Evolution and Crown Jewel in recent weeks, WWE only has two weeks to properly promote Survivor Series.

This year’s Survivor Series is using the format of the last two years following the 2016 brand extension with Raw vs. Smackdown matches. Right now there are seven matches. It’s possible that more matches could be added and perhaps the Cruiserweight Title could be in a match on the main card or the Kickoff Show.

Raw’s Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Smackdown’s WWE Champion AJ Styles

It’s a rematch from last year’s Survivor Series, which saw Lesnar and Styles have a ****1/2 match based on my ratings of the show. Today is day 365 of AJ’s WWE Title reign, which means it is exactly one year since he beat Jinder Mahal for the title.

Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch

I think this is should be the main event of the show. I’m going to write a column that will be posted later today at TheComeback.com with a list of reasons why I feel that way.

Men’s 5-on-5 Elimination Match:Team Raw (Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Braun Strowman and two more) vs. Team Smackdown (Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe)

The final two members of Team Raw will be announced on Monday I assume. Baron Corbin is the captain of the team, but he is not in the match. If I had to guess on the final two guys on Team Raw, I think Elias is a lock since WWE is really trying to push him more and one of Bobby Lashley or Finn Balor in the final spot. Perhaps they’ll have another match to determine who gets that spot. Balor would be my pick of the two.

Smackdown’s team was assembled during last night’s show with Bryan and Miz as the co-captains of the team. Shane McMahon was mutually chosen by both guys (he was first suggested by The Miz) since he is the BEST IN THE WORLD (sort of), Rey Mysterio was Daniel Bryan’s choice, which led to Miz agreeing later on and Samoa Joe got the final spot by beating Jeff Hardy in the main event. It also looks like the start of a Joe vs. Bryan rivalry especially after what happened at Crown Jewel and the end of Smackdown.

Women’s 5-on-5 Elimination Match:Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown (Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville)

The women’s team on Raw is captained by Alexa Bliss, who will announce her choices for the team on Monday’s Raw meaning that WWE will only have six days to promote the full match. It’s tough to guess who they might pick and who will be left off. I can see Nia Jax being on the team since she’s the number one contender. I hope they don’t add Tamina to the team too. I’ll make a guess that the team is Nia Jax, Mickie James, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Ruby Riott. Maybe there will be some Riott vs. Natalya match for the final spot based off the broken sunglasses angle on Raw.

Smackdown’s team was announced by Paige last night on the show with no captain specified after Charlotte turned down the captaincy offer last week. The lovely Mandy Rose complained about it, especially because Paige picked Mandy’s buddy Sonya Deville over Mandy even though Mandy eliminated Sonya in the battle royal at Evolution. Perhaps that will lead to a Mandy vs. Sonya match for the final spot. Charlotte was the only member of the team not on Smackdown this week.

Raw’s Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Smackdown’s United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura

It’s the first ever Rollins vs. Nakamura singles match. Both guys are excited about it.

Raw Tag Team Champions AOP (Akam & Rezar) vs. Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro)

I don’t think heel vs. heel matches are a great idea, but at least there should be an interesting dynamic at ringside with 7 foot Big Show supporting The Bar and the much smaller Drake Maverick supporting AOP.

Tag Team 5-on-5 Elimination Match:Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown (The Usos, New Day and three other teams)

The Usos are the captain of Team Smackdown and they picked The New Day to be on the team after their great match on Raw. The Smackdown teams will likely be The Usos, New Day, Anderson & Gallows, Sanity and probably The Colons.

The Raw teams will likely be Bobby Roode & Chad Gable, The B Team, The Revival, Heath Slater & Rhyno and Lucha House Party. The Ascension are left out in that scenario. They might be in it and one of the other teams is removed. I’m not sure what team it will be. It’s not a great tag team division on Raw right now.

That’s the card for now. There might be additions next week on WWE TV.
