Updated WWE Stomping Grounds Lineup for This Sunday, Nine Matches Are Official

TJR Wrestling

There were two more matches added to the WWE Stomping Grounds lineup during last night’s edition of Smackdown and 205 Live. Stomping Grounds takes place this Sunday, June 23rd at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington with a start time of 7pmET on WWE Network for the main show and the Kickoff Show starts at 6pmET. Nothing has been announced for the Kickoff Show yet.

It was announced on Smackdown that the “Planet’s Champions” Daniel Bryan and Rowan will defend the Smackdown Tag Team Titles against the Heavy Machinery duo of Tucker and Otis. There isn’t much of a tag team division on Smackdown, but it does make sense for Heavy Machinery to get a title shot since they are a popular babyface team.

On 205 Live, they announced that it will be Tony Nese defending the Cruiserweight Championship against Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa in a triple threat match.

Here’s what the card looks like now.

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Baron Corbin (Corbin gets to pick the special referee – no name has been announced yet)

WWE Championship Steel Cage Match: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans

Smackdown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

United States Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Ricochet

Smackdown Tag Team Championships: Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c) vs. Heavy Machinery (Tucker and Otis)

Xavier Woods and Big E vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

Cruiserweight Championship: Tony Nese (c) vs. Drew Gulak vs. Akira Tozawa

That leaves us with nine matches overall and seven of the matches are title matches. The titles that are missing are the Intercontinental Title held by Finn Balor, who hasn’t been featured on Smackdown that much in the last few weeks. Also, there’s no match for the Raw Tag Team Titles or the Women’s Tag Team Titles. The 24/7 Title is not defended in actual matches, but it should be on the card at some point.

We will have a TJRWrestling preview of Stomping Grounds on Friday morning. I’ll be back on Sunday night with a live review of Stomping Grounds as well.
