Updated WWE Clash of Champions Lineup with 10 Official Matches, Three More Matches Likely

TJR Wrestling

The next WWE pay-per-view is Clash of Champions on September 15 in Charlotte, North Carolina. This week on WWE TV, they added some matches and tweaked some of them too.

The Raw Women’s Title match became official on Raw when Becky Lynch agreed to put the title on the line against Sasha Banks, who returned on the Raw after SummerSlam, won one match against Natalya and now she gets a title shot.

Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan was announced for Clash of Champions on Tuesday before Smackdown. Meanwhile, during Smackdown this week we saw Rowan admit to being the guy that tried attacking Reigns and then he beat up Reigns as well as Rowan’s buddy Daniel Bryan.

The King of the Ring tournament continued this week. There was no winner in the Samoa Joe vs. Ricochet match, so next week on Raw it will be Ricochet vs. Samoa Joe vs. Baron Corbin with the winner making the finals at Clash of Champions. On the Smackdown side, it will be Elias vs. Chad Gable.

A change was made to the Cruiserweight Title match because Lince Dorado beat Humberto Carrillo on 205 Live this week. That meant that Dorado is added to the Cruiserweight Title match at Clash of Champions, so it will be champion Drew Gulak vs. Humberto Carrillo vs. Lince Dorado.

Here’s the official lineup so far.

WWE Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Braun Strowman

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton

Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan

Smackdown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

Raw Tag Team Championships: Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode

Smackdown Tag Team Championships: The New Day’s Big E and Xavier Woods (c) vs. The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder)

Intercontinental Championships: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) (w/Sami Zayn) vs. The Miz

King of the Ring Tournament Finals: Raw wrestler (Ricochet, Samoa Joe or Baron Corbin) vs. Smackdown wrestler (Elias or Chad Gable)

Cruiserweight Championship: Drew Gulak (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo vs. Lince Dorado

That’s ten official matches. There will be more.

Other Notes:

The US Title match will probably see AJ Styles defending the title against Cedric Alexander, who Styles and The OC attacked in a backstage segment on Raw.

I assume the Women’s Tag Team Title match will be Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defending their titles against Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose after what happened on Smackdown. That will be 11 matches.

Could the 24/7 Title be in an official match too? It’s likely since every title is supposed to be on the line. R-Truth is the current champion after Smackdown last night.

I will likely be doing a “10 Questions and Answers about WWE Clash of Champions” column this weekend.
