Two Top WWE Superstars Advertised For Fastlane

TJR Wrestling

Top WWE Superstars Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho are being advertised for the Fastlane PPV from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The actual Quicken Loans Arena website posted the following –

WWE FASTLANE COMES TO CLEVELAND, for the 1st TIME!!
WITNESS THE FINAL WWE PAY PER VIEW BEFORE WRESTLEMANIA 32
THE Q ARENA WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!
SEE YOUR FAVORITE SUPERSTARS IN ACTION LIVE!
John Cena
WWE World Heavyweight Champion – Roman Reigns

Obviously after the news emanating from WWE about John Cena requiring surgery on a torn rotator cuff (click here to see fellow TJR news reporter Robert’s report), Cena will be taken off the advertising in the coming hours.

Ski’s Take – With the injury crisis hitting WWE at the moment, it makes perfect sense to advertise as many big stars as possible for the events in the run in to Wrestlemania 32.

It’s a massive massive blow to lose John Cena this close to Wrestlemania, and in Brock Lesnar they have some star power to replace him. Chris Jericho on the other hand, his stock is definitely a lot lower than Cena’s and Brock’s. Is he enough of a draw to get the fans out in force for the Fastlane PPV, or indeed get new subscribers to the Network? I’m not so sure. TJR columnist Heather Hickey posted this brilliant piece on Jericho a few days ago asking the same question.

Everyone and their dog/cat/parrot (delete as applicable) has been saying for quite some time that Uncle Vince NEEDS to create new stars. With the stars that are on the shelf for this whole Road to Wrestlemania season, and Mania itself, he really has no option.

Bereft of John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Nikki Bella, Tyson Kidd, Sting and Daniel Bryan, WWE really have to push the likes of Roman Reigns (yes I know they already are), Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens. Maybe the “NJPW Four” could all come in and be pushed super hard, or indeed some NXT talent could come up? Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, even Baron Corbin could all be major assets in the run in to Wrestlemania?
