WWE News: Major Announcement on Friday Involving Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury

TJR Wrestling

This Friday’s edition of WWE Smackdown will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s already a big show with the WWE Draft set to begin, but there’s also going to be a big announcement.

Marc Raimondi of ESPN shared this info that WWE will be making a major announcement involving Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury.

It is believed that the announcement will lead to two matches taking place at the WWE Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 31. Those matches, based on what happened last week on Smackdown and last night on Raw are:

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Cain Velasquez

Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury

The reason these huge matches will take place at Crown Jewel rather than a PPV event in America is that WWE gets paid anywhere from $30 to $40 million for each of the two Saudi Arabia shows they do. That means they want to try to put on some “special attraction” style matches and apparently, having an MMA fighter like Velasquez (he has had two pro wrestling matches) and a boxer like Fury is something the fans in Saudi Arabia are going to like.

We will have more news on this when WWE makes this “major announcement” on Friday.
