WWE Hall Of Famer Calls Bloodline Civil War Best Match This Year
According to one WWE Hall of Famer, the best match of 2023 has already been decided following Money In The Bank on January 1st.
MITB was headlined by a match known as The Bloodline Civil War, a tag team match between Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa on one side and the Usos on the other. It was a long and dramatic affair, going over half an hour in length. But the final few minutes were the most explosive as Jey Uso did what no one else managed to in over three years: pin Roman Reigns clean.
The general reaction to that match’s conclusion was one of joy and excitement. But one WWE Hall of Famer thinks that this was far above everything else to come this year.
Speaking on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, Brian “Road Dogg” James named this tag match as the Match of the Year of 2023.
“I gotta say The Usos versus Roman [Reigns] and Solo [Sikoa]. It was. To me, it’s the best story. It’s the best build to that story … I’m just all invested emotionally into that story.”
While there’s certainly an argument to be made for the Bloodline Civil War to be MOTY, there are other matches from earlier this year that could give it a run for his money. Some other matches that WWE fans consider worthy of that title include:
- GUNTHER vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania
- Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber
- The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn at WrestleMania
- Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest at Backlash
