Vince McMahon’s WWE Return Will “Get The Fans Back On Board,” Says Veteran

A veteran claimed that WWE bringing back Vince McMahon would get the fans on board. The veteran in question is Teddy Long.

For decades, Vince McMahon was synonymous with WWE as its Chairman and creative head. However, Vince surprisingly announced his retirement in 2022, and amid all the heinous sexual allegations against him, he is no longer a part of the company now. After Vince, Triple H took over as head of creative, and the TKO Group is the new owner of the Stamford-based promotion.

However, many fans are not pleased with how the TKO group has been handling the business for quite a while now. Triple H and his creative team have also faced a lot of backlash for the current product. Meanwhile, veteran and former SmackDown GM, Teddy Long has advocated to bring Vince McMahon back.

WWE veteran believes Vince McMahon’s return would make things right

Speaking with TMZ Sports, the WWE veteran, Teddy Long said that the Stamford-based promotion bringing back Vince McMahon will get the fans on board:

I think what we got to do, we got to get Vince back so we can do this thing right and get the fans back on board.”

Teddy further stated that Vince’s chapter hasn’t closed yet, and he loved wrestling all his life:

I don’t think the chapter has ever closed with him. I think Vince, the way that I, like I said, I don’t know what happened or any of that stuff, but to me, in my knowing him, this was his life. He loved this. This was his life. I had a chance to ride on the plane with him and one night we was on the plane and as soon as we took off, he talked about wrestling until we landed.”

Teddy Long also revealed that he has the legends deal with the WWE, and if he is called up for a return, he would want to work under Vince McMahon:

I have that Legends deal, so if they call me, I have to go to work. I’ll do what I’m told, you know, what I have to do. But if I had to go back, I wish it would be under the whims of Vince McMahon,” Teddy said. [H/T f4wonline.com]
