A latest update apparently revealed what WWE CCO Triple H’s role was in the recent mass talent releases from the company.

An unfortunate news broke just a few days after WrestleMania 42 that WWE had released more than 20 wrestlers from the company. The list of releases included some major names such as Kairi Sane, Zoey Stark, The Wyatt Sicks, Motor City Machine Guns, Apollo Crews, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, and many more.

There has been a debate going on within the internet wrestling community regarding the mass releases as well. While many fans are blaming the TKO group for letting go of major names, a section of fans also believes that Triple H had a big hand behind the releases, as he is the Chief Content Officer of the company. Nevertheless, Dave Meltzer provided alleged clarification on the role of TKO and Paul Levesque in the mass releases.

Triple H’s alleged role behind the recent WWE releases

A fan on the X social media platform wondered why Triple H didn’t use his influence to keep some of the popular names who were released. Dave Meltzer reacted to the fan by stating that nobody above Paul Levesque is saying who to let go, similar to how Vince McMahon was behind all the releases back in the day:

Nobody above Levesque is saying who to cut. Maybe [WWE President] Nick Khan, maybe not. Ari Emanuel isn’t sitting there saying we have to fire Zelina [Vega] and Kairi. By and large the decision maker, for good or for bad, here is Paul. It’s like in other years where people blamed this person or that person when the decision was 100 percent Vince [McMahon].”

Dave Meltzer also noted in another post that TKO is not ordering who to release from the company because Triple H has that call:

There’s not a chance TKO is ordering who to cut. It is possible they’ve got an unofficial salary cap and Levesque as the manager has to keep the number below that. Most likely the salary total would be a Khan decision, and as far as the key in the personnel decision, that’s Levesque although Khan having input and others having input is likely. It’s like Vince would consult with a few people but at the end, it was Vince’s call, not evil Jim Ross or evil Johnny Ace or evil JJ Dillon.”

It remains to be seen if Paul Levesque will issue a statement regarding the releases.
