Thunder Rosa Praises Rising AEW Star – “It Was Her Time”

Thunder Rosa

Former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa has high praise for another titleholder in the company.

Though Thunder Rosa hasn’t been seen inside an AEW ring since August of 2022, she recently returned to the road as part of the Spanish commentary team. According to reports, the star made amends with the locker room prior to her return, attempting to quell some of the bad feelings that arose when she was last in action.

Speaking in a new interview with NBC Chicago, the star spoke about the women’s division in All Elite wrestling, first praising up-and-coming star Skye Blue, who is set to face Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s Championship on the June 14th episode of Dynamite.

“I think everybody has been working together collaboratively in a way where anyone can step up to the plate and be a great competitor. I’m happy for Skye Blue. I remember her first working as an extra, and then she got signed in Chicago. That was a very special moment for her, and Dynamite this Wednesday in Washington DC, she’s going to have a great match with Toni Storm [for the Women’s Title].”

Thunder Rosa then turned her attention to Kris Statlander, who recently made a shocking return from injury at Double or Nothing to dethrone the previously-undefeated Jade Cargill for the TBS Women’s Championship.

“It’s just like anywhere else as time passes and you’re not there, things are going to keep happening…I think a lot of people are respecting Kris Statlander to come in and take over. It was her time.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Thunder Rosa spoke about her own recovery from injury and wanting to get back into the ring.
