The Rock’s Daughter Didn’t Belong In WWE, Says Veteran

The Rock Ava WWE

One wrestling veteran has claimed The Rock’s daughter, Ava, simply didn’t belong in WWE.

NXT General Manager Ava revealed recently that she has decided against signing a new contract with WWE and has now left the company.

The Rock’s oldest daughter followed in his footsteps when she joined WWE in 2020. Two years later, she appeared on television as Ava Raine, part of Joe Gacy’s Schism faction alongside Gacy and The Dyad. The group slowly disintegrated in 2023 when The Dyad left WWE to once again become the Grizzled Young Vets.

Ava transitioned out of in-ring action and became NXT General Manager in January 2024. Through no fault of her own, as GM, she was frequently inconsistent with decision-making as the booking of the show became more erratic.

Ava has taken a strong stand politically, hinting at why she chose to leave the company, but for one wrestling veteran, she really shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

Jim Cornette No Fan Of The Rock’s Daughter In WWE

Speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, the former wrestling manager gave his thoughts on Ava, and how she was a “nepo hire” in WWE:

It’s probably best, because I’m sure that many people were nice to her, you know, to her face and didn’t want to be rude or whatever, either because they liked her personally or they didn’t want to make her father mad. But no, she had no business on a fu*king wrestling show doing any goddamn thing. She didn’t need to be on television. Since she’d been on the air, people decided to quit breathing it. When she walks into a bank, they turn off the cameras.

Can I stress more how she doesn’t need to be on television? And the fans were never going to give her a break because she was obviously a nepo hire. Again, you know, they were trying to be nice in every way to The Rock, but that’s not fair to the girl. That’s not fair; when sometimes these people get put in these positions, they can’t win. They’re not going to be any good.
