The Rock Will Allegedly Return To WWE On This Date
The Rock has been absent from WWE for almost a year.
The Final Boss made a comeback to the Stamford-based company ahead of WrestleMania 40 to set up a match against his cousin, Roman Reigns, at the Show of Shows.
Nevertheless, WWE dropped these plans following the fans’ backlash over Cody Rhodes’ booking. Instead, The Rock turned heel, joined The Bloodline, and started a heated feud with The American Nightmare.
While Rhodes went on to fight Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship on Night 2 of WrestleMania 40, the two also headlined the first night as The American Nightmare teamed up with Seth Rollins against The OTC and The Rock in a massive tag team match.
The Brahma Bull has since made a few appearances on WWE TV. His last came at Elimination Chamber last year when he signaled John Cena’s heel turn.
The Rock To Make His WWE Return In Saudi Arabia?
The Rock’s disappearance from WWE has sparked rumors about his future with the company and whether he would ever wrestle again. Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Hall of Famer Bully Ray predicted that The Final Boss will make his return at next year’s WrestleMania.
The former Tag Team Champion claimed the Saudi government would make a lucrative offer to The Rock for him to finally have the dream match against Roman Reigns at the Show of Shows.
I just think when there’s that much money on the table, anything is possible. I think that the Saudi government is going to basically tell The Rock, fill in the blank and we’ll sign the check, Rock versus Roman. There’s not a state in the United States and I don’t believe that there is a country on the planet that can outbid Saudi. [H/T: WrestlingInc.]
