Road Dogg Says CM Punk “Hard To Work With”

The Road Dogg

Amid reports that CM Punk is unhappy in AEW, The Road Dogg has weighed in by commenting that Punk was hard to deal with during his time in WWE.

It was on the 17th August 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite when the controversy surrounding CM Punk started. Cutting a promo at the start of the show, he seemingly went off-script to throw insults at ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, calling him a coward for not coming out whilst knowing the former AEW World Champion wasn’t even in the building.

It was later reported that the pair have legitimate heat, and that the outburst may have come from Punk becoming increasingly unhappy in AEW.

CM Punk has since refuted these rumours, claiming that he loves AEW and that his dressing room door is always open for those who want to have adult conversations with him.

One person who worked with CM Punk during his time in WWE was The Road Dogg, who recently spoke on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast of how Punk was difficult to deal with when teaming with him in 2014.

So how long ago was it? January 2014? Fast forward to 2022 and apparently he’s going into somebody else’s office talking about going home. I don’t know if it’s, you know, a pattern with you or not, but it sure seems like it’s forming one to me. And so look, let’s continue. I just wanted to throw a jab at Punk and then I’ll back off.

I just remember he was kind of difficult to work with and I didn’t know what was going on behind the scenes. I hadn’t been there that long and I wasn’t in the inner circle. If this had happened three years later, I would have probably known a lot more of what was going on behind the scenes. So I didn’t really know what was going on with him, but I know he was hard to deal with. And so maybe that’s [why] and I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that that’s why it was.

He had, not personal issues, they were professional issues, but it was personal compared to how me and his relationship, he wasn’t going to talk to me about it. So and it was just like me and Billy both kind of looked at each other like whoa, what are we gonna do here you know, and and so we just did the best we could to do our stuff around him, and let him be him and us be us and you know how that worked out.

The Road Dogg recently returned to WWE as Vice President Of Live Events, having been released by the company earlier this year.
