Ricky Starks On How He “F*cking Hates” AEW Backstage Drama

Ricky Starks

AEW star Ricky Starks has explained how he “f*cking hates” the backstage drama currently dominating AEW due to it taking away from the in-ring action.

Amidst plenty of talk of unrest within the AEW roster, there have been specific instances highlighted including real-life heat between CM Punk and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, as well as Eddie Kingston being quietly suspended following an altercation with Sammy Guevara.

It would be easy to see how other stars would get frustrated with all these stories getting in the way of what is happening in the squared circle, and one of them is Ricky Starks.

Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Ricky Starks spoke of how the locker room has increased in size since he joined which has caused a change in atmosphere, and also how tough the reports of unrest can be for everyone.

I definitely think that the drama of the backstage stuff, while it does pique the interest of people online, I f*cking hate it. The reason I hate it is because it kind of overshadows some of the stuff that happens on TV. For that, I’d rather not be involved with it, but you have people backstage who have loose lips, that’s what happens, and now we’ve created a scenario where we have all the rumours and speculation because that’s all it is. I promise you, what you read is not necessarily true.

The next big encounter for Starks will take place at All Out in Chicago this Sunday, when he is scheduled to take on former friend Powerhouse Hobbs. The event is being headlined by a rematch for the AEW World Championship between title holder Jon Moxley and CM Punk.
