Returning AEW Star Suffers Major Injury On Dynamite
AEW Dynamite tonight saw the return of one of the world’s most popular stars after being away from the promotion for a long while. Orange Cassidy was scheduled for a tag team match against Gabe Kidd and Clarke Connors tonight.
He was supposed to be partnered with Roderick Strong, but he walked away from the Freshly Squeezed. However, Cassidy found a replacement for Strong pretty quickly.
NJPW star, Tomohiro Ishii took Strong’s place in the match as he made his return to AEW Dynamite for the first time since October 7, where he lost to Jon Moxley.
Tomohiro Ishii made his long-awaited return to AEW Dynamite
Ishii and Cassidy were involved in a brutal tag team match tonight as Kidd and Connors put up an amazing fight. The heels were in control for most of the match, which was made easier as Ishii’s return to the promotion was hampered.
Ishii seemingly suffered an injury to his hamstring midway through the match, which looked to have bothered him throughout the fight. However, he continued on despite the apparent injury. The inury seems legit as he looked in pain even after picking up the win for his team.
Darby Allin came to their aid as he attacked Gabe Kidd with his skateboard when Kidd was wrestling with Cassidy on the outside. He took Kidd away from the equation, making it a two-on-one clash and handing the victory to Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii.
