Ex-WWE star says she regrets sharing her topless pictures on the internet.

There is a noticeable gender pay gap in WWE, although the gap has narrowed for top-tier stars. In earlier eras, men overwhelmingly occupied the highest salary brackets, with only a few women earning comparable pay.

Speaking about the old WWE days on her Too Much Information podcast, former WWE star Ariel (Shelly Martinez) revealed that women were paid significantly less than men unless they were top names such as Trish Stratus.

Ex-WWE Star Ariel Sold N*des For Extra Income

Because of the low pay, some women felt pressured to supplement their income by selling adult-oriented content. Ariel admitted that she shared topless photos of herself during that time, a decision she now regrets, explaining that her financial situation left her feeling as though she had no other option.

I’ve never done p*rn, but I’ve done topless and n*de, and there’s stuff that was very tasteful, but I still hate that it’s out there. And then there’s stuff they done. Dude, I was desperate right there, boy. I’ll tell you that. (From 31:29)

In another episode of her Too Much Information podcast, Ariel disclosed that she once became obsessed with an unnamed wrestler she was interested in and even got herself booked on the same shows to get closer to him.

However, she later realized they were not compatible, and she stopped approaching him. She was even relieved that their relationship never became physical.
