R-Truth Seemingly Calls Out Triple H For Lying On WWE Unreal
R-Truth has shared his side of the story about Triple H’s comments on WWE Unreal regarding Truth’s contract.
One of the biggest and most surprising stories in WWE in 2025 occurred in June, when the legendary R-Truth was told his contract would not be renewed.
At the time, a stunned Truth went on social media to announce that he had been released by WWE. In reality, it was a case where his contract was about to expire, and it was not going to be renewed, so technically, it’s not the same as a release.
After WWE fans were outraged by the news, the company re-signed R-Truth, who recently claimed that he signed a four-year deal with the company.
The 2nd Season of “WWE Unreal” debuted on Netflix on January 20 and covered WWE events from the summer of 2025, including Truth’s surprising WWE exit and quick return.
When WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, spoke about the situation, he made the interesting claim that Truth was never actually let go by the company.
“We got to a point in Truth’s run where his contract was coming up. When you are dealing with contracts and money, and you’re very far apart on the numbers and communication breaks down, it’s very easy for both sides to read into the communications differently.
‘Okay, well, if you’re not going to come to us, then, Truth, we’re going to let your contract lapse. Your contract is at the end. We’re not going to renew.’ Knowing that, hopefully, maybe, this will force his hand to say ‘Well, hold on a second, can we talk?’
He immediately went out on social (media) and said he was fired, which he was never fired. Contrary to prior belief, he was never not under contract with us.”
R-Truth Counters Triple H’s Version Of WWE Unreal Story
During an appearance on The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne tha God, the future Hall of Famer R-Truth gave his perspective on it when Triple H’s comments were brought up. Truth said that his agent was working on it with WWE’s agent.
Truth: “I’m supposed to stay out of that right? Let them handle that. I get a call from this side saying we’re not going to renew your contract, or however it was. So do I come to work? It’s Sunday. Next Sunday would be the end of my contract.
(WWE Office): “No, don’t come to work.”
Truth: “Oh okay. Am I done now?”
(WWE Office): “Yes.”
Truth: “There was no flight, no calendar. What do you call that? I don’t know if it’s all the same or it’s different.”
As he discussed it with the hosts, who said it sounded like a firing, Truth said, “That’s what it felt like.”
While Truth returned to WWE in a serious role at first, he has settled back into his more comedic role on the SmackDown brand.
