Nia Jax Backs Roman Reigns Against CM Punk After WWE RAW
Roman Reigns and CM Punk had a highly personal promo on the March 2 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
Reigns stated that WWE brought back The Second City Saint only to entertain “30 and 40-year-olds who still live with their parents,” and he vowed to put Punk on a retirement tour after WrestleMania.
Punk countered the attack by saying that Reigns is truly alone without The Shield, his family, or his Wise Man (Paul Heyman), and claimed that he is the one carrying the flagship show on Netflix.
The segment closed with CM Punk delivering a cold, deeply personal line about Reigns’ late father, WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i. Punk said:
“You went from getting beat at WrestleMania—now I’m going to bury you. And then you won’t be all alone anymore, because I’m going to bury you next to your father.”
Nia Jax Says Roman Reigns Will “Reign Over” CM Punk
Reigns’ cousin, Nia Jax, recently appeared on the Beyond the Bell podcast, where she was asked to share her thoughts on Punk bringing up Reigns’ father, her uncle, in his promo. This is what she had to say:
“I think small men bark loud. In that moment right there, he [Punk] was probably feeling a little confident. It’s funny because you see him walk away right after he says that line. That doesn’t bother me because I know what my family is physically capable of.”
“We’ve shown it over the last three decades—what our family is capable of—the Samoan dynasty. So that’s fine. He can speak all he wants. But when it comes down to it, exactly the person who’s going to be reigning over Phil will be none other than the OTC.”
