Miro Reportedly Working Through Injury

Miro screams at audience

According to a new report, former AEW TNT Champion Miro has been working through an injury.

Miro has not been seen in an AEW ring since the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament in which he took the place of Jon Moxley. In the semi-final, he made quick work of Orange Cassidy to claim a place in the final at Full Gear on November 13th, where he would take on Bryan Danielson.

Unfortunately, Miro was defeated by referee stoppage after a brutal bout between the two ended with him passing out to a Guillotine Choke.

Following the loss, Miro has been seen cutting promos on Rampage and Dynamite, questioning the motivations of his God after first losing the TNT Championship and then the opportunity to face the AEW Champion.

Miro captured the TNT Championship by defeating the previous champion, Darby Allin, on May 12, 2021. It was then that he began calling himself ‘God’s Chosen Champion’, and he had a number of successful defenses against the likes of Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston before being dethroned by Sammy Guevara on AEW Dynamite in September.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Miro was not originally part of the Eliminator Tournament because he is currently injured. The report explained that he is dealing with a hamstring injury, which is why his leg was heavily taped during the tournament matches. Since losing to Danielson, he has not competed in the ring and there has been no word on when he will return to action.
