Major WWE Star Makes Bold Statement About Saudi Arabia

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has made his feelings clear about performing in Saudi Arabia.

The Stamford-based company has been collaborating with the Saudi government for nearly seven years, holding several shows in the kingdom.

Although this year only Night of Champions took place in Riyadh, the Saudi capital is set to host the 2026 Royal Rumble premium live event for the first time in history in January.

A few weeks ago, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and the chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority Turki Alalshikh announced that WrestleMania 43 will be hosted by the Arab country in 2027, marking the first time the Show of Shows would take place outside North America.

Rey Mysterio Praises WWE’s Relationship With Saudi Arabia

The Master of the 619 was recently in Saudi Arabia to attend Joy Forum. During an interview with MBC 1, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked about the future of WrestleMania in the kindgom.

Mysterio explained that after having several shows in the Arab country, it has now become like home to the Stamford-based company.

Now, this is like home to us. So, to be able to, not only bring the Royal Rumble, before it was only Crown Jewel, now we can have the Royal Rumble, knowing that the following year we bring WrestleMania. That’s like [important]. (7:17 onwards)
