Why Kelly Kelly Cried Backstage After Extreme Expose In WWE

Kelly Kelly was a part of Extreme Exposé, a weekly dance segment that aired on WWE’s ECW during its revival.

The group was made up of Kelly Kelly, Brooke Adams, and Layla, and was presented on television as a glamorous, high-energy trio meant to add entertainment value to the brand. However, behind the scenes, the experience was far from easy.

Brooke Adams has since spoken about how stressful the environment really was, especially for Kelly Kelly, aka Barbie Blank.

Despite their on-screen chemistry, the pressure to perform, constant criticism, and the demanding schedule often became overwhelming.

Brooke Adams Reveals the Pressure Kelly Kelly Faced in Extreme Exposé

According to Brooke on WrestlingNewsCo interview, Kelly Kelly frequently became emotional and would cry backstage.

Kelly would run to the back, Barbie would run to the back, and cry immediately because she is probably definitely the worst of us three. I mean, I’m not any
better, you know? Like, we all had something to give. Layla was a dancer. God bless her because she had to take us to that also acted like children a lot. (From 7:35)

In the same interview, Brooke Adams was asked about her potential in-ring return. She revealed that she is interested in returning for one last run.

I think I would [return]. Because it’s like I feel like when I left, I left giving up the championship, right? I left, and I never had a rematch. So, I feel like for me, and I left to go be a mother, which is one of the, you know, most amazing things, and there’s a lot of women that are not lucky enough to even be able to do that.

So, I needed to walk away so I could be the best mom for my children. But I just feel like I left unfinished business. I don’t want to go and do like four or five years of pro wrestling by any means.

But I would love to go get myself ready, go do it one more time, one more ride, and finish out kind of the full story because I don’t think it’s like it you’re leaving the book open for another chapter if you don’t have a rematch, right? You know, and I just kind of had to, I don’t know, give up my spot to go be a mom. And that’s a hard thing. (From 28:42)
