John Cena Praises Brock Lesnar – “He’s One Of The Best Ever”

John Cena has named who he says is in the running to be considered pro wrestling’s very best if they haven’t already snatched that crown. It’s somebody that Cena started in pro wrestling with in WWE developmental territory OVW over 20 years ago.

Cena made a brief return over the summer to WWE as he looked to lay claim to a record-breaking seventeenth World Title at SummerSlam by challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. Ultimately Cena was unsuccessful in his quest for gold but his match with Reigns was somewhat overshadowed by what came after it.

Brock Lesnar, making his first appearance in WWE since WrestleMania 36 made his presence felt after the bout as he stunned Allegiant Stadium by returning. A ponytailed Lesnar confronted Reigns who was talked out of a confrontation by his Special Counsel and former advocate of The Beast Incarnate, Paul Heyman.

While the show went off the air with Brock Lesnar standing tall, the Las Vegas crowd got to see a little more. Lesnar attacked Cena, dropping him with his patented F5.

Speaking to Dan Patrick on That Scene, Cena gave his take on Lesnar’s return, and rather than seeing a new hairstyle, Cena was more concerned with a giant monster bearing down on him:

“I didn’t notice the ponytail. I noticed that he was the size of two Brock Lesnar’s. He looks mean and nasty no matter what. He’s trying to stretch the boundaries of that to see what he can pull off. He’s an anomaly. He’s one of, if not the best ever.”

While there has been no further appearance from Brock Lesnar since the SummerSlam comeback, many believe that he will return to the ring to take on Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship when WWE returns to Saudi Arabia in October.

It is believed that John Cena will make his final appearance of this run for WWE at the 10th of September show at Madison Square Garden, New York.
