Jim Cornette Claims The Fiend Is “Fake Phoney Bullsh*t”

The Fiend, Bray Wyatt

Jim Cornette has given a damning opinion of The Fiend character, as was portrayed by Bray Wyatt in WWE.

Bray Wyatt was released from his WWE contract on 31st July 2021, in a move which was shocking to many given the prominence the character had been given over the previous couple of years. At the time, he had been absence since WrestleMania after his storyline with Randy Orton had ended.

Since then, The Fiend has not shown up elsewhere in the wrestling world, and outside public appearances, Bray Wyatt has not stepped inside the squared circle.

Speaking on his Drive Thru podcast, Jim Cornette has made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of the direction the character went, and if Bray Wyatt and The Fiend were to disappear completely he would have no complaints.

People want to know where [Bray Wyatt] is. I have no idea why. I have no idea why anybody is interested in The Fiend after the Firefly Funhouse and the crispy critter from Canyon Creek got burned alive, and all that hocus-pocus science fiction, horror movie mumbo jumbo.

The most insulting, rotten, embarrassing, fake, phoney, bad bullsh*t I’ve ever seen in wrestling – and they still want to know, ‘Where is he and when’s he coming back?’ If he wants to retire, I’m all in favour of it. I might have liked the guy but when I saw The Fiend, nah.

Jim Cornette has been particularly outspoken about The Fiend character as of late, also claiming that the character is “pretty much done” and would get booed out of the building if he emerged in AEW.
