Injured WWE Star Returns On Raw

WWE Kevin Owens

Monday Night Raw has once again become the Kevin Owens Show.

The August 21st episode aired live from Montreal, Quebec and opened with hometown hero Sami Zayn. Soaking in the adulation from the Canadian crowd, the WWE Tag Team Champion was quickly interrupted by The Judgment Day.

With all 4 members surrounding the ring and looking to put Zayn on the shelf once again, Zayn declared that he would not come to Montreal alone. Owen’s music then hit with KO fighting off Judgment Day before challenging any two of the group to a tag team match later in the night.

The story of the tag team match ran throughout the show, with Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio all making their case to be in the match. The main event would see Balor and Priest represent the faction with Ripley and Mysterio on the outside. The match itself only went 2 minutes before ending in disqualification following Balor being struck with the briefcase. As the beatdown continued, Cody Rhodes would make the save and declared that the match should be turned into a six-man tag.

The match was restarted and saw the team of Rhodes, Zayn and Owens win following Mysterio being the victim of a Cross Rhodes, Helluva Kick and Stunner.

Why Has Kevin Owens Been Absent From WWE?

Owens was written off of TV on July 24th following an attack by The Judgment day to write him off of TV. It was later reported that the former Universal Champion had a fractured rib and would need to be absent from WWE for a while.

At one point it seemed like the Tag Team Championships may be in jeopardy, as both Owens and Zayn were injured at the same time.
