Finn Balor is keeping illustrious company following WWE Payback.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn had held the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship since winning the gold in the main event of WrestleMania 39 from Jimmy and Jey Uso but that all changed in Pittsburgh in a Steel City Street Fight but despite the lack of rules there was still a smack of controversy about the finish of the match.
Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh all got involved in the bout to help Balor and Priest seal the win with Mysterio nailing Zayn with Priest’s Money In The Bank briefcase to ensure victory. The win means The Judgment Day is now one of WWE’s great factions that sees all members holding gold simultaneously.
Grand Slam Finn Balor!
As celebrated by WWE on social media, the win makes Finn Balor the latest Grand Slam champion in company history.
During his time in WWE, Finn Balor has captured the NXT Title on two occasions but his Grand Slam of main roster titles comprises two reigns as Intercontinental Champion and one as United States Champion. The biggest title win of Balor’s career was the first jewel in his Grand Slam crown when he captured the Universal Title at SummerSlam 2016 only to have to hand over the title less than 24 hours later due to injury.
