Finn Balor Attacks Seth Rollins In NXT

Finn Balor Seth Rollins

Finn Balor has his sights set on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and taking out Seth Rollins ahead of their match at Money In The Bank seems to be his main strategy.

Balor and Rollins’ history goes back to August 2016 when the Irish star defeated Rollins at SummerSlam to become the inaugural Universal Champion. However, Finn Balor suffered an injury in that bout which meant he had to vacate the gold less than 24 hours after winning it and kept him on the shelf for nine months.

Seth Rollins became WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions when he defeated AJ Styles in a tournament final for the newly introduced belt, and that instantly put a target on The Visionary’s back.

Challenges have been coming thick and fast for Seth Rollins but perhaps the most surprising one so far has come from NXT star Bron Breakker. The two men met for Rollins’ gold on the 20th of June edition of NXT television and that match came one night after Finn Balor brutally attacked Rollins, stopping him from holding an open challenge for his title on Raw.

At NXT Gold Rush, Seth Rollins was pushed to the limit by Breakker but ultimately two Stomps were enough to put away the former NXT Champion and ensured Seth Rollins’ return to the developmental brand was a successful one.

But in time-honored NXT tradition, the copyright logo appearing on screen was not in fact the end of the show, and as Rollins’ celebrated his win he was ambushed by Finn Balor once again. Balor took the fight to the champion and even took out security to do so but he was ultimately stopped in his tracks by NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams who came to Rollins’ rescue.
