Ex-WWE Star Returns After Controversial Firing

Triple H WWE

One star fired by WWE under deeply controversial circumstances has made a sensational return to the company to compete in a match.

After Wes Lee failed to defeat Oba Femi for the NXT North American Title, he cut a forlorn figure as he seemed unsure what his future held but thankfully he had friends on hand to help him in his hour of need.

TNA stars The Rascalz Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz appeared to instil some badly needed confidence in their old teammate. Wentz told Lee that he was the greatest North American Champion while Miguel referenced Wentz’s time in NXT as he said Wentz and Lee were the greatest tag team ever in NXT.

Now the group have competed as a trio for the first time ever in WWE as The Rascalz reunited to defeat Gallus on the 16th of July edition of NXT. Wes Lee picked up the win for his team by pinning Mark Coffey as TNA star Joe Hendry watched on from the commentary table.

Zachary Wentz Left WWE Under A Huge Cloud

What makes this match somewhat more remarkable is the controversial circumstances one member of The Rascalz was fired by WWE.

Zachary Wentz was fired by WWE after domestic abuse allegations surfaced alongside an old photo of the star apparently doing an impression of Hitler. The situation gained a lot of attention online with prominent AEW star MJF leaping to Wentz’s defence. Wentz rejoined TNA shortly after, reuniting with Trey Miguel and reforming The Rascalz
