This ex-WWE star isn’t shy of doing a gimmick match, which has now been scrapped.

Modern wrestling takes women very seriously, giving them almost equal, if not more, screen time with legitimate titles in the division parallel to all of the men’s titles.

But fans of the Ruthless Aggression Era or The Attitude Era from 20 and 30 years ago, respectively, would find it eye-opening to see the advancement of the women’s division as they would tune in to gimmick matches like Bra & Panties matches back when women were treated more like attractions by WWE and less like actual wrestlers.

Former WWE star Shelly Martinez (known in WWE as Ariel) reacted to a controversial TikTok clip and made a bold statement.

The clip saw a fan saying that his favourite type of match from his era was the Bra & Panties match, and went on to say that he would love to see some of the modern-day female wrestlers compete in his favourite gimmick match.

Speaking on her show TMI (Too Much Information), Martinez said that she enjoyed Bra & Panties matches, but acknowledged that it was a different time and society is far different now.

I wanted to retweet it, and then I didn’t because I thought, ‘Why do I love Bra & Panties matches? Because I do. I like watching them, and I’m straight. I like doing them; I’ve done them a few times in my career.

Because I come from the era of Al Bundy and the Man Show, and I’m just one of those girls… I tried out for the Man Show to be a trampoline girl. I sought out these opportunities because that’s what I wanted to do… There are just different eras. The era we’re in today is completely different from how society is.

Former WWE Star Shelly Martinez Gives Her Opinion On Janel Grant

Janel Grant, the defamed victim of the Vince McMahon sexual harassment and trafficking scandal, made her first public appearance recently, talking against WWE and expanding on the accusations against Vince and WWE, and also making some new and shocking revelations, like she attempted to commit suicide after paying six figures to fight the lawsuit against WWE and Vince.

Despite the horrific stories shared by the victim, some people accused her of flipping the script as and when necessary.

Shelly Martinez was one of them, claiming on her YouTube channel that Grant was acting like an entitled b**ch.
