Cody Rhodes doesn’t want a long-drawn-out feud with a big shot in WWE.

The American Nightmare is in his third run as the Undisputed Champion and is returning to Las Vegas to defend his title. This time around, however, the 40-year-old doesn’t want to be stuck in a lengthy feud with a WWE legend and wants them to have one final encounter before they bury everything forever.

Cody Rhodes Wants To Be Done and Dusted With a Rivalry

QB1 recently made an appearance on the Busted Open podcast. Speaking about his upcoming WrestleMania 42 match against Randy Orton, The American Nightmare said that he just wishes to face his former mentor in one more match. He especially noted that he doesn’t want to do the whole John Cena thing once more with The Viper.

With John Cena, I didn’t get it at WrestleMania. I had to wait till SummerSlam to get it, and I certainly got it there. I want this to be one and done with Randy Orton at WrestleMania. I want to put this in the past. And if John was the angel on my shoulder, Randy was the devil on my shoulder, and I had both them to give me advice on how to do this and where to go with it. I want to make this one and done and and move on,” Cody Rhodes said.

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are in a white-hot feud right now, with the latter turning heel and bringing back his ruthless persona. While The Viper turned only after Rhodes asked him to, he left him oozing crimson all over after attacking him with steel steps after the contract signing of their WM42 match.

Additionally, Rhodes’ previous runs as the Undisputed Champion saw him defend his titles against just a handful of opponents multiple times. Thus, it’s natural for him to want to fight more opponents before WWE decides to put the spotlight on other emerging stars. It would be interesting to see if QB1 will retain his gold at WM42 or if Orton will finally clinch his 15th world title.
