Cody Rhodes has some big plans if he finishes the story.

At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes will look to avenge his loss from a year ago and defeat Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Since returning to WWE, Rhodes has made no secret of his dream of winning the title that famously eluded his legendary father.

Furthermore, Rhodes has repeatedly hinted that he’d love to bring back another piece of WWE heritage in the form of the winged eagle belt.

Speaking at a panel at WWE World (via WrestlingNewsCo) Rhodes discussed what kind of champion he’d be if he beats Reigns, and again teased that he’d like to change the World Title belt.

“I think the type of champion I’d be for starters, from a logistical standpoint, is I would be on both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. I don’t know, you guys like how the title belt itself looks? Then maybe, again, don’t want to get a cart before a horse here, I have to beat the greatest champion in the history of our business, Roman Reigns.

But if I do, maybe we change how that title looks, too. Really, if I could do anything as champion, I would want you guys to have fun. That is 100% what I’m in the business of doing, making you guys happy, and I’m blessed and honored to do that. So that’s what I look forward to doing, and I hope we have a great weekend, all of us together,”

Cody Rhodes Was Given Warning Following WWE Return

During the panel, Rhodes reiterated his desire to become WWE Champion, recalling the promise he made to himself as a child to win the gold and give the belt to his father. That goal has driven the star ever since he returned to the company, and riding a wave of support he’s become one of the most beloved figures in the company.

Speaking elsewhere, Cody Rhodes said he was repeatedly warned that fans would turn on him. The American Nightmare added that being himself on WWE television is both a burden and a privilege.
