Cody Rhodes Doesn’t Need Feelings Protected For Great Reason

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes feels secure in his spot as a WWE superstar.

As a former 2-time Undisputed WWE Champion and a WrestleMania headliner, Cody Rhodes is unquestionably one of the biggest WWE stars not just this decade, but of all time.

Even though Cody Rhodes isn’t going into WrestleMania 42 as a Royal Rumble winner or as the WWE Champion, he’s still in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match with a shot to compete for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes recently got a lot of attention for his “Raheem” remark regarding the “d**k measuring contest” involving a Roman Reigns-CM Punk promo battle.

While speaking to Mostly Sports, Rhodes talked about his mindset in firing back at Reigns-Punk even though he’s not facing either of them at WrestleMania.

“I can’t really give you the thoughts on the [d**k] measuring contest other than I said what I said. Not taking it back. Said what I said and fully in my belief in what I said.

However, that was a day — we have the most hardcore fans who sometimes cannot tell what is being put up as part of the show and what’s not. That’s the beauty of what we do, when are you in character, when are you out of character, whatever it may be.

There was a lot of, ‘Oh, they have to reply to this really great Roman/CM Punk promo.’ Like, we’ve got to rebuttal. We’ve got to fight back. I’m not fighting either of those guys. One I have the upmost respect for and we hold two company records together, the other a genuine friend. I’m not fighting you guys. I’m probably going to be wrestling somebody else.

So, what I thought was a little page of, I’m just gonna do something that hopefully makes this audience laugh and we’re going to move on. The current champion Drew McIntyre took it upon himself to stand up for the WWE Championship and good for him. The guy I beat for the WWE Championship is one of the guys we’re talking about, it’s all on paper.”

Cody Knows His Worth To WWE

As he continued, Cody Rhodes made the point that his feelings don’t need to be protected, citing that he’s making a lot of money and enjoying his life in WWE.

“My friend Kazeem, he had said something about protecting my feelings whenever Roman is around. I thought — and this is going to sound really.. you’re not going to love this but I don’t need them protected. I’ve seen the balance sheet. I’m good on what the company has done with me and him and we’re good.”
