Chelsea Green is considered a mid-card talent in WWE, but she has built a strong level of fan support over the years.

Even though she currently plays a heel character, Green often receives cheers and positive reactions from the crowd, sometimes comparable to the reactions that top babyfaces in the company receive.

Over the past few years, Green has grown significantly in WWE. During a recent interview on the Ghost of Hollywood podcast, she spoke about her rise in the company and how her performances have helped her gain the trust of WWE’s creative team.

Chelsea Green Writes Her Own Promos

Green revealed that her consistent performances eventually earned the confidence of the writers, and she is now allowed to write most of her own promos. According to her, this is a major sign of trust from WWE, as the company usually closely controls what performers say on television.

“They just kept giving me reassurance that what I was doing was right, so every week I pushed the boundary and the envelope. Now, we’re at a point where the writers are so incredible with me. They basically just tell me what vibe they want from me and then, I write my own promos, I come up with a lot of the things I do, like the character moments.”

She explained that this opportunity came somewhat unexpectedly during the Royal Rumble. At the time, WWE was heavily focused on the return of Nia Jax, which meant that the creative team had less time to focus on her segment. Because of that situation, Green was given more freedom, and the moment ended up working in her favor.

“All that stuff in the past three years is because WWE has put full and total trust in me. All that came about because they were so busy with the Royal Rumble, everyone cared more about Nia Jax’s return, and I kind of got pushed to the side, and that ended up being for my complete benefit. I’m so thankful it happened that way.”
