Charlotte Flair Injury Update Following WWE WrestleMania Backlash

A new report has provided an update on the apparent injury sustained by Charlotte Flair during her ‘I Quit’ Match against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash.

Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey were set on a collision course when Rousey returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble. By winning the thirty-woman Royal Rumble match the Baddest Woman on the Planer secured her place in the main event of WrestleMania 38. Rousey soon made her decision to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

To the surprise of many, Flair was able to overcome Rousey and retain her title at The Showcase of The Immortals. However, the feud was not done there and the former Raw Women’s Champion demanded The Queen meet her in an ‘I Quit’ match At WrestleMania Backlash. At the event, the two went to war both in the ring and outside it, but in the end, Ronda Rousey made Flair say “I Quit” after locking in an armbar with the help of a steel chair. The victory meant that Rousey captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time.

Later in the show, it was claimed that Flair had suffered a fracture of the radius as a result of the armbar, however, new reports suggest that this was part of a storyline to write Flair off TV temporarily.

Fightful Select reported that the WWE creative team had been told that Charlotte Flair was going to be taking some time off and this was a way to get her off television to “recuperate”.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Flair is taking time off as she is due to marry AEW star Andrade El Idolo sometime this summer. At the time of writing, there is no information on how long Flair will be absent.
