Mercedes Mone’s AEW future has officially been announced at the Forbidden Door 2026 event.

Amid all the great showcase matches at the Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view, the Owen Hart Foundation men’s and women’s tournament finals were also lined up. The women’s final featured Mercedes Mone and Maya World, as the winner will challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In 2026.

Mercedes had won the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s tournament last year, but failed to capture the Women’s World title. Nevertheless, The CEO proudly defended her title and reached the final this year as well.

Mercedes Mone’s future in AEW is official

Maya World got some amazing support from the crowd, as a beloved babyface, while Mercedes generated some heel heat from the audience. Maya also poured her best efforts into arguably the biggest match of her career. However, Maya’s efforts were not enough, as she ended up tapping out and eventually losing to The CEO.

After winning the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s tournament for the second year in a row, Mercedes Mone will officially challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In London 2026 in August.

Thekla is the current AEW Women’s World Champion, and it remains to be seen if she will defend against Mercedes at All In 2026.
