Becky Lynch Breaks Silence After SummerSlam Match Pulled
Becky Lynch has seemingly confirmed that her match with Trish Stratus was originally meant to happen at SummerSlam.
Lynch and Stratus have been in a bitter rivalry ever since Stratus turned on Big Time Becks back in April. The pair clashed at Night Of Champions in a bout that saw Zoey Stark come to the aid of Stratus, helping her to victory.
Following that match, it seemed that the pair would meet again at the biggest party of the summer. However, their bout has been pushed back to the August 14th edition of Raw, which will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in Stratus’ home country of Canada.
Lynch has now confirmed that she was supposed to be competing at SummerSlam by posting pictures from a photoshoot she did for the event on social media.
“This was the shoot I did for Summerslam….”
Why has Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus been cut from WWE SummerSlam?
According to a recent report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the reason the grudge match was pulled from the event was due to time constraints. Meltzer says WWE didn’t want to “short-change” any matches by having too many on the card.
There were also believed to be plans for Rhea Ripley to defend her Women’s World Championship on the show but that match against Raquel Rodriguez but that is looking unlikely to take place at the event either.
