Andrade El Idolo was back in action on AEW Collision and his Flair family went on social media to praise his performance.

There were several big name AEW wrestlers that made their in-ring returns on the debut episode of Collision. The return of CM Punk got the most attention of course as he returned from a torn triceps suffered in September 2022 at All Out. Miro was also back after AEW didn’t put him on television since September as well.

A third wrestler made their anticipated return as well: Andrade El Idolo. It seems like that All Out show in September 2022 was cursed because that was when he had his last match as well. El Idolo had surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle, which put him on the shelf for a lengthy period of time and AEW decided to bring him back for Collision.

On the debut episode of Collision, El Idolo wrestled Buddy Matthews of the House of Black. The two men had a very competitive match with several nearfalls in the match.

The finish of the match saw Andrade use a very familiar move to wrestling fans. Andrade won with the Figure Eight submission move that his wife, WWE’s Charlotte Flair, uses. There were also moments in the match where Buddy Matthews was doing some of Rhea Ripley’s moves because he is dating the WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Champion.

That led to Charlotte reacting to it by posting a video of the finish on Instagram with these comments, including five stars. She also tweeted about it, but she didn’t post the video on Twitter.

One of the best in the world. This is what happens when YOU @andradealmas get to shine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Charlotte’s father and Andrade’s father-in-law Ric Flair also praised the match heavily. Ric called it the best match he has seen in a year that didn’t involve his daughter Charlotte.

Clearly, the Flair family is happy and proud of Andrade as they should be.
