A top women’s wrestler in AEW wants to see the company have the first-ever Women’s Blood & Guts Match.

The third-annual Blood & Guts match will take place next Wednesday, July 19th in Boston. It is AEW’s version of the WarGames match with two cages surrounding the ring and ten wrestlers in a match trying to make their opponents quit.

It was this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite when we found out that the Blackpool Combat Club will have Pac joining their team while The Elite will be joined by Kota Ibushi to form The Golden Elite.

The first two editions of the Blood & Guts match in 2021 and 2022 were matchups between feuding stables. That’s what we will see this year as well.

Britt Baker D.M.D. is one of the top female stars of AEW that has been with the company since day one over four years ago. She’s also a former AEW Women’s Champion that is regularly featured on television.

In a recent interview with Mark Andrews on the My Love Letter To Wrestling podcast, Britt Baker made it clear that she wants to see a Women’s Blood & Guts Match in AEW too.

“Blood & Guts would be awesome, to have a women’s match in Blood & Guts. I hope, before I retire, that’s a regular feature of the Blood & Guts show. Just to have the female presence, I think that would be such a spectacle. We have some crazy girls in AEW that would be willing to really put their bodies on the line, and I think that match would really, really deliver.”

As she continued, Baker admitted that the women of AEW would have an “immense amount of pressure” in a match like that, but she feels confident they would do well.

“It’s not that the women aren’t talented enough to do it, it’s just we are so lucky that we have so many of the best wrestlers in the world.”
