News on WWE’s NXT Halftime Heat Broadcast on Sunday Feb. 3 Including Location, Crowd, Announcers (HBK!) and How to Watch
It was announced that during the Royal Rumble Kickoff this past Sunday that WWE will be presenting a Halftime Heat NXT tag team match. The matchup will see the face team of Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream and Ricochet face the heel team of NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, North American Champion Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole in a match that will take place at halftime of Sunday’s Super Bowl featuring my Los Angeles Rams challenging the New England Patriots.
The Super Bowl halftime show will feature the band Maroon 5, who I don’t care to listen to, so I’ll be opting for Halftime Heat. Super Bowl halftime usually runs for 30 minutes, so with intros, this could be a 20+ minute match.
The match was set up after a brawl took place at NXT Takeover Phoenix on Saturday.
Where can you watch it? WWE Halftime Heat will be available to watch on the award-winning WWE Network, as well as on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. If you miss it live, you can always watch it on demand after the game.
Going into the match, there have been questions from fans wondering how they will do the broadcast. The plan is, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, is for the match to take place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando where WWE will be having a Super Bowl party for friends and family of the wrestlers and the PC staff. They will be the audience for the match, so it’s not like it will be a crowd, but I’m sure they will be making a lot of noise.
In addition to that, the commentary team was announced by Jeremy Borash, who previously worked for WCW and TNA/Impact, but now works for WWE on the NXT brand.

I think Vic Joseph and Shawn Michaels will do a good job. Shawn does not have that much commentary experience aside from doing guest announcer work in his career, but he is a trainer at the PC in Orlando and likely knows all of these guys well.
What we don’t know exactly is when the match will take place because it is halftime of the Super Bowl, which starts at 6:30pmET in Atlanta. That means halftime of the game should be around 8pmET, but that time is approximate because you never know how a game is going to go if there are injuries, if there are more stoppages than normal and of course, there are a lot of commercials.
I will probably write a review of the match on Monday, when I’m hopefully in a great mood after the Rams win the Super Bowl.
