WWE News: Eric Young Debuts at NXT Taping (With Brief Video)

TJR Wrestling

Eric Young, a former TNA World Champion that won nearly every title in that company’s history during his 14 years there, debuted at the WWE NXT tapings tonight at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.

Young was confronted the new WWE NXT Champion Samoa Joe in the opening segment. WWE tweeted about it with a video and Triple H also tweeted about it as well.

As you can see, Young received a really loud ovation from the crowd as they chanted “holy shit” when they saw him.

There were reports earlier in the day that Young was there because fans took photos of him in the parking lot and posted them all over social media.

It was a little over a month ago when Young and close friend Bobby Roode left TNA after they were there for 14 years. Roode appeared at ringside at the NXT Takeover Dallas event – he was just shown in the crowd. Could he debut during this set of tapings? It’s very possible.

We don’t post spoiler reports here normally, but if WWE is breaking the news on social media then we figure we might as well share it with you.

TJR Thoughts: Happy for Young. He’s a really talented before. It’s smart of WWE to sign guys like him that have really done it all in the business for another company. He can be a veteran leader that can work well as a face or a heel. He can even be a comedy guy if that’s what they want. He’s 36 years old and still has plenty of great years left in him. I wish him a lot of success in WWE.

The rest of the tapings will be interesting because of Finn Balor’s status. If he’s not used then that would likely mean he’s going to the main roster very soon, possibly as early as Sunday or Monday. Then there’s Shinsuke Nakamura. How will be used? I’m not going to post spoilers on here, but I do check them out because it’s definitely an interesting time for NXT.

Late on Thursday night, WWE posted this interview with Young.
