Here are some news items following last night’s excellent AEW Revolution pay-per-view. I thought the tag team match between Kenny Omega and Adam Page vs. The Young Bucks was amazing, so please try to check that out.

These notes come from PWInsider and also from AEW President & CEO Tony Khan’s media scrum that happened after Revolution. I’ll post the video of it at the bottom of this review.

* There will be a special episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, March 25th in Newark, New Jersey featuring the first-ever “Blood & Guts” match in AEW history. The concept is two rings side by side surrounded by one massive cage. The idea is that it would be like War Games, but WWE owns the War Games name so AEW can’t use it even though Cody’s dad Dusty Rhodes came up with the match. Cody does own “The Match Beyond” trademark, so AEW may use it. Anyway, the Blood & Guts will take place on that episode of Dynamite.

The “Blood & Guts” phrase comes from a Vince McMahon conference call last July when he said he was hoping that AEW wouldn’t continue “the blood and guts and gory things that they have been doing.” Obviously, AEW heard that and they plan on continuing the “blood and guts” part of their shows.

* Colt Cabana has signed with AEW. Cabana will be working for AEW in multiple capacities including as a wrestler, an announcer and he’ll work as a producer backstage. Tony Khan added that Cabana can work elsewhere if AEW approves of the bookings.

* Jeff Cobb has not signed with AEW yet and he is enjoying being a free agent right now.

* Lance Archer debuts next Wednesday on Dynamite and Tony noted that he has been a fan of Archer for many years, so he’s excited to see him in AEW.

* Tony made it clear that they have no intention of moving Dynamite to another night when he was specifically asked about Mondays. Tony said TNT really liked having them in their lineup on Wednesdays. Tony also said what he has said since the beginning of AEW that he doesn’t want AEW on Mondays against the NFL’s Monday Night Football since his family owns the Jacksonville Jaguars.

* Regarding the days of the AEW PPVs, Tony said he liked Saturdays and that’s also likely because the NFL has Sunday night football games too, so the same point from above would apply. Tony said he heard from a lot of fans that they prefer Saturdays because they have parties with family or friends while citing fans in the UK that are happier staying up on Saturday night instead of a Sunday. If you did a major show like this on a Sunday, it would be difficult to stay up later at night for it.

* Tony noted that they probably won’t do an episode of Dynamite in the United Kingdom because he would want the show to be live on TV so that would mean a 1 A.M. start there and they aren’t going to do that. Tony did say they would likely do some sort of PPV-like special in the UK at some point.

* Cody getting a new neck tattoo certainly drew a lot of attention last night. As you can see below, the tattoo is on the right side of his neck, which is an interesting spot for it.

Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes is not a huge fan of it and said this to the media after the show:

“I’m the one person that doesn’t like the neck tattoo, I don’t like it. I’ve said it, there it is. I know a lot of wives like to be really hands on. My husband makes his own decisions, he’s allowed to make his own decisions. So if I decided to do something crazy, he can just let me make my own decisions [laughs].”

At least she’s honest about it.

* Dustin Rhodes said after the show that he’s going to be in a tag team with QT Marshall now. They will add more depth to AEW’s already deep tag team division.

* Jon Moxley won the AEW World Championship last night. His wife, WWE’s Renee Young, was at the show and she posted this photo on Instagram in support of her husband.
