Tony Khan Declines To Comment On Becky Lynch Speculation

Becky Lynch

Tony Khan has a lot of respect for Becky Lynch.

Over the last 12 months, Tony Khan has shown no hesitation in moving to bring several big-name free agents to AEW. This has resulted in the company landing the likes of Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Adam Copeland.

Despite having a stacked roster, Khan is determined to keep bringing in fresh talent.

During the pre-AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call, the AEW boss was asked by Sean Ross Sapp if he had an interest in Becky Lynch or Dijak. Lynch has been a free agent since her WWE deal expired on May 31st, and Dijak will leave WWE on June 28th.

While Khan refused to discuss specifics, he said he’s got a lot of respect for both stars.

“There are some great free agents out there. These are great names you’re talking about. I have a lot of respect for everybody you said, but it probably wouldn’t behoove me or benefit AEW for me to give my contract thoughts on all of them or what I would negotiate or what I would have with any of them. I do think they’re all great talents.”

Continuing on, Khan confirmed he’s always looking to add to the AEW roster.

“It’s been a big past year for us in free agency, signing those four and many others. We’ll continue to be active in free agency. Anytime there is somebody of the standard of those four, who are four of my personal favorite wrestlers ever, then I’m always going to be looking to be involved.”

Becky Lynch May Have Already Agreed WWE Deal

Meanwhile, a new press release might have accidentally confirmed Becky Lynch will be staying with WWE.

On June 27th, WWE announced a new merchandise partnership with Manchester City, revealing a new range inspired by WWE stars such as Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and most interestingly, Lynch. While there’s been no official comment, it appears unlikely the Irish star would be involved if she wasn’t returning to the company.

Lynch hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Liv Morgan on the May 27th episode of Raw.
