Matthew Jackson Says He’s Praying For Tony Khan

Tony Khan AEW neck brace

Matthew Jackson has offered his thoughts and prayers to recovering AEW President Tony Khan.

The sarcastic remarks came after Jackson and his fellow Elite members attacked Khan during AEW Dynamite on 24th April. The vicious incident came after Khan had taken to the ring to officially welcome Jack Perry back to the company.

The 41 year-old was left in a neck brace after the assault and subsequently wore the support throughout the NFL Draft in his role for the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise.

It proved good publicity for the company, with NFL Network host RIch Eisen highlighting Khan’s appearance during the live television broadcast before later convincing him to auction the brace for charity once he had fully recovered.

During a recent appearance on AEW Unrestricted, Jackson poked fun at Khan, mocking his injuries and suggesting he prayed with his children for the AEW owner’s recovery:

“How’s Anthony Khan doing, by the way? I haven’t heard from him in a little bit? [Will Washington says he’s doing well.]

Yeah, every time I tuck my kids into bed, we say a quick prayer. We say, ‘Hey, Tony, thinking about you. Hope you’re doing better.’ Nobody knows what neck injuries are like better than us. I’ve suffered a bad neck for a very long time, so thoughts and prayers.”

Tony Khan Addresses On-Screen Future

Khan finally made his return to AEW television on the 22nd May edition of AEW Dynamite, driving the returning Darby Allin to the arena.

Despite his reappearance on screen, Khan has declared that he wishes for the focus to be on the company’s wrestlers moving forward.
