WWE NXT Spoilers for July 27 and August 3 Episodes, Samoa Joe's In-Ring Return Announced

The next two weeks of WWE NXT are being taped tonight at the Capitol Wrestling Center aka the WWE Performance Center. These two episodes will air on Syfy in the United States due to Summer Olympic coverage airing on USA Network, which is NXT’s home. NXT is normally a live show every Tuesday, but WWE has chosen to tape the next two weeks of shows.

Thanks to Jay Reddick (@runninjay) on Twitter for the results below.

July 27 NXT

* Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan defeated Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher. Ridge Holland made his return to NXT. He has been out of action with a leg injury since last October.

* Samoa Joe and William Regal had an in-ring segment where Joe resigned as management. Joe asked Regal to sign a contract to set up Joe challenging Karrion Kross for the NXT Title at the next Takeover on August 22. Regal agreed to it, so Joe is a wrestler in WWE again.

* Carmelo Hayes defeated Josh Briggs in the NXT Breakout Tournament.

* There was an in-ring segment where NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez was attacked by best friend Dakota Kai, so that long-time duo has been broken up.

* Kacy Catanzaro/Kayden Carter defeated Franky Monet/Jessi Kamea because some attempted interference from Robert Stone cost Money/Kamea the win. Monet was angry with Stone after the match.

* Imperium defeated Hit Row in a tag team match. I assume it’s a 2 on 2 tag team match. Legado del Fantasma distracted Hit Row, which led to Imperium getting the win.

* Adam Cole defeated Bronson Reed with the Last Shot (running knee to the head) two times.

* After the main event, Kyle O’Reilly attacked Cole with a chair and left him laying. That was the end of the show.

August 3 NXT

* Ridge Holland defeated Ikemen Jiro. Holland had Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan with him.

* There was a backstage segment where Indi Hartwell received a drawing from Dexter Lumis. It set up Lumis vs. Johnny Gargano for later in the show. If Johnny wins then Lumis had to stop chasing after Hartwell.

* Roderick Strong defeated Bobby Fish. It doesn’t say what Strong won with, but apparently it was a long match.

* Grizzled Young Veterans defeated LA Knight & Cameron Grimes when Knight walked out on his partner. Ted Dibiase checked on Grimes after the match.

* Trey Baxter defeated Joe Gacy in a NXT Tournament Breakout Match.

* Hit Row defeated Legado del Fantasma by DQ when Santos Escobar used a chair. Swerve Scott was attacked with a chair until Hit Row saved him.

* Karrion Kross did a promo. Samoa Joe showed up to confront Kross, but security held Joe back. Joe beat up security, but he was unable to get a hold of Kross because Kross ran away.

* Johnny Gargano defeated Dexter Lumis with the One Final Beat DDT. Indi Hartwell was going to leave looking sad, but then she went into the ring to check on Lumis and they kissed. That appeared to be the end of the show.

TJR Thoughts: Based on these spoilers, the lineup for NXT Takeover looks like this with some of the top matches:

NXT Championship: Karron Kross vs. Samoa Joe

NXT Women’s Championship: Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai

Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly for a third time since it’s 1-1 in their series.

NXT North American Championship: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott vs. Santos Escobar.

That’s four, so there will likely be another one or two matches added.
