WWE Adds Hell in a Cell Match to Sept. 16 Hell in a Cell PPV, WWE Title Match Announced For Super Show-Down Oct. 6

There was one more match added to the September 16 Hell in a Cell PPV during this week’s edition of Smackdown. Jeff Hardy was in the ring doing a promo, he called out Randy Orton, who had no interest in getting in the ring with Hardy and that’s when Hardy challenged him to a Hell in a Cell match at the HIAC PPV. That led to Smackdown GM Paige officially announcing the match. It will be Hardy’s first Hell in a Cell match. Orton has been in six of them with a 3-3 record.

Here’s how the Hell in a Cell card looks now:

Universal Championship Hell in a Cell Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Braun Strowman

WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse

Raw Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

Hell in a Cell Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton

At the end of Smackdown, Becky Lynch appeared to challenge Charlotte Flair to a Smackdown Women’s Title match. It’s not official yet, but it should be a part of the show.

Also, The New Day will defend the Smackdown Tag Team Titles at Hell in a Cell, but we don’t know the opponents yet because they are running a mini-tournament to determine that.

The second AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe WWE Title match was also announced for Super Show-Down in Australia on October 6. As you can see above, they’re also wrestling at Hell in a Cell. Here’s the Super Show-Down lineup.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H

The Shield (Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins) vs. Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre

WWE Championship: AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe

John Cena and Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens and Elias – Kevin Owens “quit” on Raw, so this match may change although I expect Owens’ story

Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz to determine the #1 contender to the WWE Championship

Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella and Brie Bella) vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan)

That’s all for now.
