1992 – Shawn Michaels picked up a disqualification win over WWF Intercontinental Champion ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper in a non-title match on the ‘March To WrestleMania VIII’ syndicated TV special which took place at the WWF Wrestling Challenge tapings in Biloxi, Mississippi. Piper was disqualified for attempting to use the boot of Michaels’ new on-screen valet Sensational Sherri, to hit his opponent.

1996 – The semi-finals of the tournament for the vacant WWF Tag Team Titles took place at the WWF Superstars tapings in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Godwinns won by disqualification over Owen Hart & The British Bulldog, and The Bodydonnas defeated Savio Vega and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. The Godwinns and The Bodydonnas would compete in the finals for the vacant titles at the Free-For-All Show in Anaheim as part of WrestleMania XII.

1997 – On the 200th episode of WWF Monday Night Raw from Worcester, Massachusetts Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Paul E. Dangerously were involved in worked-shoot WWF vs ECW debate. Also, Mankind & Vader defeated Sycho Sid & The Undertaker in the main event.

2007 – ‘The Big Cat’ Ernie Ladd passed away aged 68 in Franklin, Louisiana. Ladd first found success in the American Football League as one of the sport’s largest players. He then wrestled for a few different wrestling promotions including the WWWF and the NWA. He was trained by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Bobo Brazil who was a close friend of Gorilla Monsoon. Ladd would be part of the original commentary for WWF Wrestling Challenge with Monsoon, before he was replaced by Bobby Heenan. Ladd was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame in 1994, and WWF Hall of Fame the following year.

2008 – Chris Jericho won his eighth WWE Intercontinental Title by defeating Jeff Hardy on WWE Raw from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

2013 – Bully Ray defeated Jeff Hardy for the TNA World Heavyweight Title in the main event Steel Cage match at TNA Lockdown in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. In the process, the new champion was shocking revealed as the leader of the Aces and Eights faction.

2014 – On WWE Raw, the famous ‘Occupy Raw’ segment took place. Daniel Bryan took over the programme by filling the ring with genuine fans from the crowd sporting his shirt and chanting ‘Yes, yes, yes!’. He refused to empty the ring and let the show carry on until The Authority agreed to grant him a match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX with the winner being added to the Randy Orton vs. Batista Undisputed WWE Championship match main event.

2017 – Christopher Daniels defeated Adam Cole for the ROH World Heavyweight Title in the main event of the ROH Winner Takes All 15th Anniversary show in Las Vegas.

2019 – On the road to WrestleMania XXXV, at WWE Fastlane in Cleveland The Shield, in their final appearance on WWE TV and pay-per-view as a faction, won the six-man tag team main event against Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntryre.

2021 – On an episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF officially left The Inner Circle, aligning himself with FTR, Tully Blanchard and Shawn Spears to create The Pinnacle.

2021 – On NXT, William Regal declared Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai is the first NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions following their Dusty Classic victory. Their reign was short-lived, as they lost the belts later in the night to Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart.
