1987 – The Ultimate Warrior, then known as The Dingo Warrior, made his WWF television debut with a win over Frenchy Martin at a WWF Wrestling Challenge taping.

1988 – Jim Crockett Promotions presented The Great American Bash ’88: The Price For Freedom at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. In the main event, Ric Flair defended the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Lex Luger in a bout with a hugely controversial finish. As Luger had Flair trapped in his Torture Rack submission hold, the representative of the Maryland Athletic Commission stepped in to stop the bout due to profuse blood loss by Luger and awarded the win to Flair. Earlier on the card The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) defeated The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) to win the NWA World Tag Team Championship in a match that saw Jim Cornette suspended above the ring in a cage.

1998 – WWE presented a show titled LA Melee from the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, California. The main event saw Sting defeat Hollywood Hogan by submission in a steel cage match. In the co-main event, Goldberg made his first defence of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Curt Hennig.

2001 – Jeff Hardy defeated WCW superstar Mike Awesome to win the WWF Hardcore Championship at a SmackDown taping in Birmingham, Alabama.

2011 – TNA’s Destination X PPV took place at the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida. The main event saw AJ Styles defeat Christopher Daniels. Also on the show, Brian Kendrick beat Abyss to win the X-Division Championship. In a notable match on the undercard, Eric Young and Shark Boy defeated Max and Jeremy Buck, also known as Generation Me. This was Generation Me’s last TNA appearance as they asked for their release the following day, a release that was granted. The team then reverted to their previous name, The Young Bucks and re-joined the independent scene, going on to become arguably the most influential tag team of their generation and forming the cornerstones of All Elite Wrestling, the promotion formed in 2019.
