1926 – In Columbus, Ohio, Ted Thye defeated Clarence Eklund to win the Australian World Light Heavyweight Title.

1990 – NJPW Super Fight was held in Tokyo, Japan. Masa Saito defeated Larry Zbyszko to win the AWA World Heavyweight Championship, Stan Hansen retained the IWGP World Heavyweight against Big Van Vader after a double count out, and in the main event Antonio Inoki and Seiji Sakaguchi defeated Masa Chono and Shinya Hashimoto with Lou Thesz as the special guest referee.

1993 – In Dortmund, Germany, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart defeated Ric Flair by submission to retain the WWF Championship. This would be Flair’s last match with the company until the Royal Rumble PPV in 2002.

2003 – Curt ‘Mr. Perfect’ Hennig died at the age of 44 in Brandon, Florida. He was still the FOW Heavyweight Champion when he died and Hennig was considered the last champion before Future of Wrestling folded later that year.

2008 – TNA held their Against All Odds PPV in Greenville, South Carolina. On the card:

  • Jay Lethal and Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) defeated Johnny Devine and Team 3D (Brother Devon and Brother Ray) in a street fight. As a result of Lethal scoring the pin, he became the new X-Division Champion.
  • Awesome Kong defeated ODB to retain the TNA Knockouts Title.
  • Abyss defeated Judas Mesias in a Barbed Wire Massacre match but due the the nature of the match the city of Greenville refused to allow it to take place live, so it was held in the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida.
  • The main event saw Kurt Angle retain the TNA World Title against Christian Cage with Samoa Joe as the special guest enforcer.

2009 – The WWE ECW show was in Fresno, California. Christian made his return to WWE for the first time since 2005, and Tyson Kidd, making his WWE television debut, defeats Bao Nguyen in just 90 seconds.

2015 – On an episode of WWE SmackDown from Dayton, Ohio, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan won a tag team gauntlet match against six teams in succession. They defeated The Miz and Damien Mizdow, The Usos, Los Matadores, Heath Slater and Titus O’Neill and The Ascension before finally defeating Kane and The Big Show to take the victory.

2021 – NJPW’s Kenta teamed with Kenny Omega on AEW Dynamite to defeat Jon Moxley and Lance Archer.
