1998 – Chris Candido and Lance Storm win a three-way dance over ECW Tag Team Champions Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon as well as Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney to win the titles.

1998 – WWF Capital Carnage, a UK-only PPV took place at the London Arena, London, England. The main event was a fatal-four-way match pitting ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Kane and Mankind. Austin took the win with an assist from the special enforcer, actor and former footballer, Vinnie Jones.

1999 – Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger defeated Psicosis for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on WCW Monday Nitro. To date, this was the last time the title changed hands on US soil after Liger had lost it the prior week. New Japan Pro Wrestling did not acknowledge Psicosis’ reign until 2007.

2002 – The short-lived World Wrestling All-Stars promotion held an event titled ‘The Retribution’ from The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, Scotland. The main event saw Lex Luger win the vacant WWA Heavyweight Championship in a match with Sting. The event aired on PPV in the USA, but not until February 2003.

2003 – Jerry ‘The Wall’ Tuite died of a heart attack in Tokyo at the age of 36.

2004 – Lita defeated Trish Stratus for the WWE Women’s Championship. It was the last time a women’s match took the main event spot on Monday Night Raw until 2016.

2008 – Dennis Rodman is declared the winner of ‘Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling series. He ‘beat’ Todd Bridges in the final.

2009 – El Mesias defeated El Zorro in a ladder match to win the vacant AAA World Heavyweight Championship at AAA ‘War Of The Titans’ in Orizaba, Mexico.

2010 – Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov won the WWE Tag Team Championship on Raw in Louisvile, Kentucky. The win came in a fatal-four-way match also featuring The Usos, Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel and Mark Henry & Yoshi Tatsu.

2014 – UFC announced they have signed former WWE Superstar CM Punk to a two-fight contract. He went on to lose both fights.

2020NXT WarGames took place at the Capitol Wrestling Centre. In the show’s namesake matches, Team Candice defeated Team Shotzi and The Undisputed Era picked up a victory over Pat McAfee’s team which included Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan and Pete Dunne.
