1996 – The Great Sasuke defeated Ultimo Dragon in the final of the J-Crown tournament to win a total of eight different title belts, collectively known as the J-Crown. Included in the haul of titles was the WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship, the IWGP and NWA Junior Heavyweight Championships and the British Commonwealth Junior Heavyweight Championship.

2000 – Pro Wrestling NOAH presented their first event, titled ‘Departure’ in Tokyo. The main event was a 2 out of 3 falls tag team match that saw Jun Akiyama and Kenta Kobashi defeat Akira Taue and Mitsuharu Misawa by a 2-0 scoreline.

2006 – Brian Danielson (Daniel Bryan) and Samoa Joe fought to a legandary sixty-minute draw with the ROH Championship at stake at ROH’s Fight Of The Century event in Edison, New Jersey.

2011 – WWE conducted one of the biggest one day talent purges in their history when they released a raft of talent including Melina, Harry Smith, Chris Masters and Vladimir Kozlov.
