The John Report: WWE Raw Deal 10/27/25 Review

WWE Raw Deal October 27

It’s WWE Raw featuring CM Punk and Jey Uso exchanging words, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss facing Bayley & Lyra Valkyria, and more.

This is the final Raw before Saturday Night’s Main Event this Saturday, November 1st. After that, we are on the road to Survivor Series and two WarGames matches on November 29th.

This is the Raw Deal for episode #1692 of Monday Night Raw. It’s taking place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Follow me on Twitter/X @johnreport. Let’s get to it.

There was some pre-show walking shown of Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, and Penta. That was it.

A video package aired showing highlights of last week’s Raw battle royal won by Jey Uso when he eliminated Jimmy Uso, LA Knight, and Dominik Mysterio to win. Jimmy wasn’t happy that his brother eliminated him.

The commentary team was Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett. Alicia Taylor was the ring announcer.

Jey Uso And CM Punk Meet Face To Face

The vacant World Heavyweight Title was in the ring. Jey Uso made his entrance in the crowd, and the fans were Yeeting along with him as usual. Jey found some kids to Yeet with as usual. Some people think Jey is acting heelish of late, and that may be true, but the fans still love the guy, and that entrance is still very popular with the fans. After the music stopped, Jey started Yeeting again because the fans wanted more.

Jey Uso welcomed us to Mon-Jey Night Raw. Jey said a lot of people in his ear, saying Roman and Jimmy are in his ear, and everybody’s mama is in his ear. Jey said right now he doesn’t give a damn what they think about him. Jey said that it’s just him for the number one contender, it’s him Saturday Night, and it’s him trying to become World Champion for the second time…and here comes CM Punk

There was a huge ovation for CM Punk, who turned 47 years old on Sunday, so happy birthday to him. It’s my birthday next week, and he’s two years older than me, so I support my fellow mid-40s man with grey in the beard. The fans loudly greeted Punk with cheers as usual. After Punk’s music stopped, he called to “run it back” like Jey does with his song, but Punk stopped it quickly.

CM Punk said his four letters and one word were “Punk.” Punk said before we get to Saturday, he’s happy for Jey for finally not listening to all the noise. Punk said it’s no secret that they are friends. Punk said he has never been in Jey’s situation because he has always listened to himself. Punk said he listens to himself and he believes in himself when you’re winning, and it’s harder to do when you’re about to lose. Punk said he knows Jey has what it takes since he watched Jey throw his brother over the top rope (the fans booed that), and Punk said that you shouldn’t boo that because it’s every man for yourself. Punk said that Jey showed he had what it takes. Punk wondered how far Jey is willing to go – he’s not asking Big Jim’s brother or Little Roman. Punk wondered how far Jey is willing to go because he’s not the only one to be champion again. Punk said that the small time he had with the World Title after beating Gunther was way too short. Punk needs the title like he needs air in his lungs. Punk said that when you’re face down on the mat after Punk has knocked you out and you’re in a situation where you can’t yeet your way out of, how far is Jey willing to go?

Jey: “Let’s go, Punk. Let’s go, Uce.” Jey said he’s been in deep waters before, so he knows what to do. Jey said that Punk is trying to spin it like Jey is the bad guy. Jey said, “Screw you” to Punk, and he’ll show him who the best in the world is, while ending it with four letters, one word: “Yeet!” Punk and Jey had a staredown.

Analysis: It was a strong promo from CM Punk as usual. A nice reminder that he is arguably the best talker in the business. Jey Uso spoke before Punk and then said very little after, so it felt like Punk said a lot more. The fans booing when it was mentioned that Jey eliminated Jimmy in the battle royal shows that they hated that moment, so it also proves that the story is working well. Punk asked the question, wondering how far Jey is willing to go, teasing Jey about potentially cheating to win if the opportunity presents itself. I want Punk to win, and I think Punk will win.

A clip was shown of AJ Styles & Dragon Lee winning the World Tag Team Titles from The Judgment Day on Raw last week.

The Judgment Day was shown in the clubhouse, and Dominik Mysterio told the others in the group that there’s a problem because Raw GM Adam Pearce has a problem with him. They mentioned Dominik cheating to win, and Dom said he never cheated a day in his life. Dom says he has to face the winner of Penta and Rusev at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh weren’t eager to help Dom, so they left. Dom called somebody to help. Roxanne Perez wanted to go help him, but Raquel Rodriguez stopped her so they could focus on Perez’s match against Nikki Bella.

Penta made his entrance for the match against Rusev. They went on a break for some fans as Penta continued his entrance. Rusev’s entrance was next.

Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Rusev vs. Penta

Rusev stopped a charging Penta with a punch. While Rusev was on the apron, Penta kicked him down to the floor. Penta jumped over the top with a somersault dive onto Rusev on the floor. Back in the ring, Penta hit a springboard DDT for two. Rusev bailed to the floor, so Penta went after him and Rusev punched Penta in the jaw. Rusev hit a running splash against the turnbuckle. Penta hit a Backstabber to Rusev’s back for a two count. Penta kicked Rusev out of the ring. Penta went for a sliding attack, but Rusev caught him and sent Penta into the steel steps. The show went on a break, and I’ll take a break too. Rusev was in full control for a few minutes.

The match continued with Rusev catching a leaping Penta and applied a bearhug, but Penta broke free. Rusev kicked Penta in the head. Rusev charged, Penta avoided him and did a handstand kick to the chest for just a one count. Penta hit three kicks to the head to knock Rusev down. Penta jumped off the top with nothing and Rusev hit a Machka Kick to knock Penta down for a two count. Joe mentioned that Rusev beat Penta with that in the past, but it was just a two count this time. Rusev went for the Accolade, but Penta countered with a Penta Driver sitout slam for two because Rusev punched him. The two count was very close, so the fans booed that nearfall. The Los Americanos duo of Rayo and Bravo (Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate) attacked Rusev and Penta for the non-finish. It went about 10 minutes.

Match Result: No Contest

Analysis: *** It was fun while it lasted. The non-finish is likely done to set up a triple threat match against Dominik Mysterio, which I figured was the plan from the beginning with this story. I liked the chemistry shown between Rusev and Penta. The fans got into it with that nearfall by Penta. I liked the match for what it was.

After the match, El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) joined Rayo and Bravo in attacking Rusev and Penta. They sent Rusev and Penta out of the ring. They tossed Rusev into the steel steps. Los Americanos celebrated in the ring together. Rusev was back in the ring to clear Rayo and Bravo from the ring. Penta tried a move on Grande, but Rayo and Bravo saved Grande from that. Los Americanos left.

Analysis: The Los Americanos guys are hated by the fans so much that even Rusev got cheered for attacking them.

LA Knight was interviewed by Jackie Redmond in the backstage area. Knight was asked what’s next. Knight admitted he did fall short, but you see CM Punk and Jey Uso going on to Saturday Night’s Main Event. Knight said that Jey is going on to SNME, and he is not. Knight said he doesn’t know how to quit, so whoever comes out of this with the World Title, he’s going to keep fighting and he’s going to win the World Title with everybody saying…LA Knight…Yeah.

A video aired showing some boots in jeans, and it ended there. There’s likely more of that coming later.

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston with Grayson Waller were interviewed by Byron Saxton in the upper deck of the arena. Waller said that Xavier Woods is taking a mental health break. Waller read a text from Woods trashing Anaheim and the fans. Kofi ranted about the fans being awful and The New Day being disrespected, but Saxton cut them off to say they ran out of time, so Kofi and Waller complained about that.

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed were backstage with Paul Heyman. Bron said he wanted to be in the battle royal because he knew they could have won. Heyman said that instead of focusing on a battle royal, they can just focus on CM Punk or Jey Uso as the new World Heavyweight Champion. Heyman informed Bron that he has a match against LA Knight, so Reed said, “Yeah.”

A video package aired showing highlights of Asuka’s incredible 10-year run in WWE, starting in NXT with a dominant run and continuing the success on the main roster. It showed highlights of her big wins like the Royal Rumble, four reigns as a Tag Team Champion and she’s a 5-time Women’s Champion.

Analysis: Outstanding career for Asuka. Future Hall of Famer, obviously.

Raw GM Adam Pearce was on the phone and he hung up when Finn Balor & JD McDonagh appeared. Pearce mentioned Dominik Mysterio to them, but they weren’t there about Dom. They wanted a shot at the World Tag Team Titles held by AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. Pearce said that last week they illegally eliminated Sheamus in the battle royal, so one of them has to face him tonight. JD McDonagh said he’ll do it. Balor said when he’s done, Pearce shouldn’t forget about the World Tag Team Title shot that they want. Pearce said he won’t forget.

Nikki Bella made her entrance for singles action. This was during the break for some fans as Roxanne Perez made her entrance as well. They showed comedian Cristella Alonzo at ringside.

Roxanne Perez (w/Raquel Rodriguez) vs. Nikki Bella

Perez smacked Nikki in the face early on. Nikki came back with a slap of her own and Perez sold it like a big deal. Nikki did a fireman’s carry into a headlock. Perez slammed Nikki into the mat, followed by some punches. Nikki slammed Perez’s face into Nikki’s knee. Nikki sent Perez into the barricade and back into the ring. Nikki was by the turnbuckle, Perez distracted the referee and Raquel snapped Nikki’s head into the turnbuckle. Perez did a catapult to send Nikki into the ropes. The show went to a break for some fans as Perez was in control for the next few minutes.

The match continued with Perez hitting a running uppercut to Nikki’s back while Nikki was against the ropes. Perez hit a springboard moonsault on Nikki for two. Perez was wrenching on Nikki’s neck, along with forearms to the back. After some Perez push-ups, Nikki came back with punches. Nikki and Perez hit the double facebuster to send each woman into the mat. Nikki was back up with clotheslines and a dropkick. Nikki hit a springboard kick to the face for two. Perez tried a sleeper, but Nikki got out of that and Nikki hit a spinebuster for two. Perez was on the apron, so Nikki punched her in the jaw. Perez tried a rollup with feet on the ropes, but referee Jessika Carr stopped that. Nikki got a rollup for two. Nikki hit Perez with a forearm. Perez hit Nikki face first into the turnbuckle and Perez hit Pop Rox out of the corner for the pinfall win after 11 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Roxanne Perez

Analysis: *** The story of the match was Perez working on the neck the whole way, and it ended up helping her in the end because she sent Nikki into the turnbuckle, and Perez hit Pop Rox after that for the win. I’m not that surprised by the result, although I think Nikki could use some wins to show that she can hang with the current stars. I certainly don’t mind a Perez win. She’s terrific.

After the match, Perez picked up Nikki and hit her with a clothesline. Stephanie Vaquer, the Women’s World Champion, ran out to the ring for the save. Raquel and Perez were ready to leave, but Raquel was back up and stared at Vaquer. Nikki was back up to stand beside Vaquer, so Raquel bailed.

Analysis: It teases a match between Vaquer and Raquel, even though Perez was getting the win in this match.

A clip was shown of Bayley challenging Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to a Women’s Tag Team Championship match against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.

Lyra Valkyria was walking backstage when Asuka yelled at her about getting a title match. Sane said something briefly, and then Asuka yelled, so Sane left. Bayley approached Lyra to say that she thinks they can do this. Bayley wondered what would happen if they lost, and Lyra said what would happen if they won. Bayley loved the positivity. They did a handshake to end it.

Jey Uso was walking backstage and Jimmy Uso told his brother that he saved Jimmy in the battle royal twice. Jimmy said that the play was for them to work together and then face off at the end, but Jey was selfish and eliminated Jimmy. Jimmy said if it came down to the two of them, Jey might be scared to find out what would happen. Jey said nothing as Jimmy left.

Analysis: Good for Jimmy to put Jey in his place like that. In Jey’s defense, a battle royal is every man for himself, so Jey just did what it took to get the win.

Bron Breakker made his entrance with Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed. Heyman did a promo during a break for some fans. Heyman did a promo putting over “The Tribal Thief” Reed and the future of WWE and WrestleMania, Bron Breakker. It was simple.

They showed somebody walking in dress shoes. This is part of the WrestleMania 42 teaser video that was filmed.

LA Knight made his entrance, and he got a big pop as usual.

Bron Breakker (w/Bronson Reed & Paul Heyman) vs. LA Knight

Knight worked over Bron with punches and a clothesline. Bron ran the ropes quickly, leading to a running clothesline on Knight. Bron showed off his speed running the ropes before that and the announcers were in awe about it. Knight jumped off the turnbuckle with a cross body block for two. Knight countered Bron into a sunset flip. Bron was back up with a punch to the head. Knight stomped on Bron and hit a running knee smash against the turnbuckle. Knight hit a running kick that knocked Bron down on the floor. They went on a break for some fans as the action continued. Bron took advantage after sending LA into the commentary table. Bron press slammed LA onto the commentary table. Bron was in control for the next two minutes.

Bron remained in control with a running knee smash on Knight against the turnbuckle. Knight charged at Bron, who lifted Knight over the top to the floor. Bron ran around the ring and hit a shoulder tackle to knock Knight down. Knight worked over Bron with punches, along with a running clothesline. Knight sent Bron into the turnbuckle and hit a jumping neckbreaker. Knight a hit a powerslam, along with an elbow drop. Knight wanted a BFT, Bron avoided it and Bron hit a jumping knee to the face. Bron set up Knight on the turnbuckle, but Knight was sitting on the turnbuckle, so he was not going to be suplexed down. Knight slipped under Bron and tripped him, so Bron hit the mat hard. They went back to the turnbuckle, Bron shoved Knight down and Knight jumped to the top with a superplex for two. They both do turnbuckle spots like that well and Knight’s superplex looked great and it drew a big pop. Knight kicked Bron, Reed on the apron, so Knight punched him and Bron went running into the ring post because Knight moved out of the way. Knight clotheslined Reed on the floor. Knight rammed Bron’s head onto the commentary table repeatedly and the fans loved it. Heyman approached Knight, so Knight saw that and Heyman backed away. Back in the ring, Knight countered a press slam and hit a reverse DDT. Knight went up top, jumped off the top and Bron popped back up and hit a Spear for the pinfall win.

Winner by pinfall: Bron Breakker

Analysis: ***1/2 A very good TV match where both guys needed the win, and it sucks that one of them had to lose. Bron is an ascending star, so of course, his win makes sense. There are a lot of fans frustrated about the booking of LA Knight. He lost the triple threat match against CM Punk and Jey Uso two weeks, he didn’t win the battle royal last week and he lost again here. The fans like the guy and believe in him, yet Knight is coming up short in matches. I get that it’s part of a storyline where Knight is on this long journey to try to get to the top, but at some point, Knight needs to break through. Bron didn’t even have to cheat to win much here. This was a decisive win to put Bron over strong.

The Raw GM, Adam Pearce, approached Dominik Mysterio backstage as Dom was talking to Los Americanos. Dom said it was crazy how Los Americanos attacked Penta and Rusev all on their own. Pearce said that Penta and Rusev are going after Dominik’s Intercontinental Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event this Saturday. Dom wasn’t thrilled about it.

Analysis: There’s the triple threat IC Title match that I mentioned earlier. It was obvious it was going that way. I still think Dominik will retain.

Jimmy Uso was walking backstage when he saw his brother Jey Uso. Jey said he loved his brother and nothing will change that. Jey said that Jimmy admitted he would throw Jey out, but it didn’t go that way. Jey said he’s got a lot on his plate – Roman, The Vision, and CM Punk. Jey said he doesn’t have much real estate for anybody left. Jey asked if you feel me? Jimmy said he feels him. They shook hands and hugged like brothers.

Analysis: They appear to be on the same page for now.

JD McDonagh made his entrance with Finn Balor. Sheamus was up next. There was a break for some fans during the entrances.

There was another teaser video, this time showing Paul Heyman’s hands with the Hall of Fame ring on it. This was part of the videos promoting WrestleMania 42.

John Cena’s final Raw will take place on November 17th from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Analysis: I assume Cena will be in a match, but nothing is official yet. Since he wrestled in MSG so many times, I think putting Cena in a MSG match one more time makes sense. Doing a tag team match with a bunch of babyfaces against heels like The Judgment Day could work.

Sheamus vs. JD McDonagh (w/Finn Balor)

The powerful Sheamus worked over JD with punches and a back body drop. Sheamus picked up JD and hit him with a suplex. JD slipped behind Sheamus, leading to a chop block to the left leg, a forearm to the back and JD stepped on Sheamus. Sheamus clotheslined JD over the top to the floor. Sheamus stared at Balor on the floor. JD used his legs to trip up Sheamus, leading into a twisting splash by JD onto Sheamus for a two count. Sheamus set up JD on the apron and wanted the forearms, but Balor pulled JD down to the floor. Sheamus hit a double clothesline on JD and Balor on the floor. The fans were fired up. They went on a break for some fans. Balor held Sheamus’ leg and then JD did a dragon screw leg whip against the ropes. JD wrenched on Sheamus’ left leg on the mat. JD elbowed Sheamus on the top of the head. Sheamus tried to fight back, but JD kicked the leg against the ropes.

JD grabbed Sheamus in a chinlock, but Sheamus fought out of that and they went over the top to the apron. JD kicked Sheamus on the floor. JD hit a springboard moonsault onto Sheamus on the floor. Back in the ring, JD went up top and hit a 450 Splash for a two count. JD slapped and kicked Sheamus, so Sheamus fired up and hit some clotheslines to knock JD down. Sheamus hit an Irish Curse backbreaker onto the knee. JD smashed Sheamus with a headbutt, but Sheamus came back with a Rolling Senton slam. Sheamus put JD on the apron, so that led to the 10 Beats of the Bodhran as the fans chanted along with the forearm smashes. Sheamus hit four more forearm shots. Sheamus charged, but JD was ready with a knee smash and cradle pin attempt for two. Sheamus picked up JD and hit a Razor’s Edge across the ring. Balor put JD’s leg on the bottom rope for a two count, which Sheamus saw, but the referee didn’t see it. Sheamus confronted Balor, who picked up the shillelagh at ringside. Sheamus hit a knee smash on Balor on the floor. JD dove onto Sheamus, who caught him and tossed JD onto the commentary table. Sheamus sent JD into the barricade. Sheamus put JD in the ring, the referee checked on JD and Balor smashed Sheamus with the shillelagh, which the referee didn’t see. JD went up top and hit a Spanish Fly on Sheamus for the pinfall win after 14 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: JD McDonagh

Analysis: ***1/2 That was a very entertaining match. Sheamus continues to put on banger after banger, as he loves to say, even though he’s not featured on TV as much as I’d like to see. I doubt many people watching this thought that JD would win, but he cheated and got the job done. I’m glad that JD was able to show off what he can do in a longer singles match because he’s usually just a tag team guy. This rivalry should continue with Sheamus finding an ally to fight off Balor and JD. I’m sure Sheamus and Balor have wanted to feud for a long time as two Irish legends, so it’s good to see them in a rivalry like this. I liked the match a lot.

There were highlights of last week when Becky Lynch got intentionally disqualified against Maxxine Dupri when Lynch realized she couldn’t beat Dupri.

Maxxine Dupri spoke to Raw GM Adam Pearce, who said that Dupri has earned another title match since she has two wins over Lynch recently. Dupri said she wants and needs this match. Dupri said she needs to call a friend to confirm that she is prepared to face Lynch and prove she is ready. Dupri said she’ll take that Women’s IC Title from Lynch and give Lynch and the world the biggest shock of her life. Pearce told Dupri to call her when she’s ready.

Analysis: That sounds good. It seems like Maxxine Dupri will do some training with Natalya to prepare. They might save the Lynch-Dupri match for Survivor Series, unless it’s just a TV match, perhaps at MSG Raw.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss were interviewed by Jackie Redmond. Bliss said that they don’t back down from a fight. Flair said that they are two victories away from having the most Women’s Tag Team Title defenses in history. Asuka and Kairi Sane walked in, saying they should be in the title match tonight. Asuka said they should be champions. Flair told Asuka they would be favored to face the Kabuki Warriors. Asuka told Flair she’s not ready for Asuka. Kairi stared, so Asuka yelled at her to come. Flair and Bliss stared.

There was another video shown of somebody pouring some booze into a glass. There were three other glasses.

Nikki Bella and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer were interviewed by Byron Saxton in the upper deck. This was during a break for some fans. Nikki said that Raquel and Roxanne need their asses kicked. Vaquer challenged them to a tag team match.

There was a rundown of the Saturday Night’s Main Event lineup for this Saturday, November 1st. It’s on Peacock in the US and YouTube internationally.

* For the Vacant World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk vs. Jey Uso

* Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio vs. Rusev vs. Penta

* WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill

* Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

Analysis: I may end up writing a preview later in the week, so I’ll save my predictions for that. I don’t know if they’ll stick with four matches or add one more to it.

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, the new World Tag Team Champions, spoke to Adam Pearce backstage. Styles said that 2026 will be his final year, but he wants them to face any worthy tag teams. JD McDonagh and Finn Balor interrupted to brag about their win over Sheamus. Pearce said that he saw them cheat out there. Styles asked Lee what he thought. Lee said that they want to show them they are unstoppable next week. Pearce made it official.

Analysis: It’s a World Tag Team Title match for next week with AJ Styles and Dragon Lee against Finn and JD. Cool. I think AJ and Lee should retain.

A poker chip was shown with 2026 on it. That continues the WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas theme.

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley were up first as the challengers in the main event. The fans liked them as they continued to pose for the fans for a few minutes.

Next week on Raw:

* Nikki Bella & Stephanie Vaquer vs. The Judgment Day – Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez

* World Tag Team Championships: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. The Judgment Day – Finn Balor & JD McDonagh

The popular Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss made their entrance. The fans like them a lot, and they have built a lot of chemistry as a team.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria

It started with Bliss and Bayley facing off as they exchanged some moves without either woman getting the advantage. Flair tagged in against Lyra, leading to a waist lock takedown. Lyra tripped up Flair, followed by a low dropkick. Flair chopped Lyra and kicked Bayley off the apron. Lyra hit multiple kicks on Flair to knock her out of the ring. Lyra hit the dropkick through the ropes to knock Flair down. There was a break for some fans as the challengers took control with Bayley isolating Bliss. Bayley hit a belly-to-back suplex.

The challengers remained in control, with Lyra using a surfboard submission-style move to remain in control of Bliss. Bayley tagged in for a double team neckbreaker on Bliss. They did a cool spot where Bliss countered both women into a double DDT. Flair tagged in and jumped off the top with a double cross body block. Flair hit some chops, followed by the cartwheel clothesline. Flair hit a fallaway slam on Lyra and an Exploder Suplex on Bayley. Flair went up top and hit a moonsault onto both opponents for two. Flair hit the moonsault perfectly there. Sometimes she doesn’t do it perfectly with the landing, but this one was done the right way. Flair kicked Bayley off the apron. Lyra hit a spinning heel kick to knock Flair down. Bayley was fired up as she turned up the intensity and got the tag. Bayley hit a knee smash, a neckbreaker off the ropes, and an elbow smash to the back. Flair hit a knee, but Bayley came back with Bayley to Belly, which is her old finisher. Flair kicked Bayley into the turnbuckle, but Lyra made the tag and jumped off the top with a leg drop to Flair’s head. Bliss made the tag before that and Bliss hit the Sister Abigail DDT on Lyra for two because Bayley made the save. Flair kicked Bayly, who pulled Flair out of the ring. Bliss went up top, Lyra got a hold of her and Lyra hit a Nightwing slam off the shoulders for two because Flair made the save. That was another great nearfall! Flair tagged in against Bayley, who took down Flair with a Thesz Press and punches. Bayley chopped Flair repeatedly, but Flair came back with a boot to the face. Flair applied the Figure Eight submission as she did the bridge attempt. Bayley nearly tapped out, but Lyra was back in to stop the tap. Bliss jumped off the top with a Twisted Bliss splash on Lyra! Awesome. Flair and Bliss each hit the Natural Selection at the same time (Flair on Bayley, Bliss on Lyra) as Flair pinned Bayley for the win. It went 13 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss

Analysis: **** Awesome match. I’m going four stars out of five. It reminded me a bit of the Styles/Lee against JD/Finn match last week that finished strong, and this was that sort of match with a hot ending. These four women crushed it and had a great main event that was competitive the whole way. It wasn’t about the story that much, other than Flair and Bliss are fighting champions who take on all comers. They had an impressive performance. Bayley and Lyra are easy to like as well. The last few minutes were absolutely outstanding, with both teams getting some believable nearfalls, and the action intensified after that.

After the match, Asuka and Kairi Sane, aka The Kabuki Warriors, attacked Flair and Bliss. Asuka and Bliss sent Bliss out of the ring. Asuka held Flair while Sane jumped off the top with an Insane Elbow. Asuka and Sane attacked Lyra, but Bayley went into the ring and Asuka and Sane backed away.

They showed Asuka and Kairi Sane celebrating in the aisle while Flair and Bliss were down on the floor, and Bayley checked on Lyra in the ring. That was the end of the show.

Analysis: It sets the stage for Flair and Bliss against the Kabuki Warriors at some point soon. That could be a Survivor Series match, or maybe it leads into the women’s WarGames match because I assume Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky would be part of that as well. There’s a lot of depth in the women’s tag team division right now, which is a good thing.

This week’s Raw had a runtime of 2 hours and 32 minutes on Netflix.

Final Thoughts on WWE Raw

I thought it was an excellent episode of Raw, thanks to some very entertaining matches all night long. All of the matches got time, they advanced stories when needed and had some good finishes. Sometimes on Raw it’s frustrating with finishes that are overbooked. I really didn’t mind any of them this week.

The Flair/Bliss and Bayley/Valkyria tag team match was awesome. It exceeded my expectations. JD/Sheamus was fun with Balor getting involved to likely set up Sheamus costing JD/Finn in a tag team match next week and the Bron Breakker-LA Knight match was great too. People want Knight to win, though, so I get that there will be frustration about that result.

Raw remains the best weekly WWE TV show. I enjoyed it a lot this week. By this time next week it will have a new World Heavyweight Champion. I think it will be CM Punk beating Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place this Saturday, November 1st with this lineup:

  • Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre
  • For the Vacant World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk vs. Jey Uso
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill
  • Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio vs. Rusev vs. Penta

You can watch Saturday Night’s Main Event when it streams LIVE on Saturday, November 1 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Peacock in the United States and on YouTube internationally.
